In honor of Leap Day, businesses are celebrating with freebies and discounts. Here in the Triangle, I've found three four Feb. 29-only deals. Please post any you've discovered, along with a link to all the details.

Who doesn't like a freebie? Especially when the freebie involves food.

We've been on a roll lately with free food offers from a variety of restaurants, including Panda Express, Bruegger's, Burger King and Papa John's.

The good news is this: there's even more to come.

Mark your calendars for these upcoming food freebies:

For the entire month of February, Subway restaurants are selling footlong sandwiches for $5.

We'll likely do this deal on Friday evening, eating half for dinner and saving the other half for Saturday lunch.

It also sounds like a deal if you're looking for an easy way out for Super Bowl watching this Sunday.

The promotion is good on regular sandwiches only and is available all day long.

How does a FREE breakfast sound?

Subway is taking reservations now to give customers free breakfast sandwiches and coffee the week of Jan. 30 through Feb. 4.

You'll get one of Subway's new "Mornin' Melts" and a 16 oz. cup of Seattle's Best coffee.

If you're a fan of junk food, you might want to check your junk mail this week before tossing it out.

Tucked inside the usual circulars were two small booklets loaded with coupons for Subway and McDonald's.

The McDonald's booklet contains 11 coupons worth about $38 in savings. Though not quite as good as the last booklet, which had coupons for completely free items, it does have several BOGO coupons and several more for $1 breakfast items.

The coupons are good through Feb. 19.

The Subway booklet contains three sets of four coupons:

• Buy one 6-inch sub, Get one free.
• $2 sub with the purchase of a 32 oz. drink.
• $8 dinner for two (two 6-inch subs, two chips and two 21-oz. drinks).
• $1 Mornin' Melt.

The expiration dates on each set of coupons is staggered throughout the month of January.

If holiday movie watching is on your agenda, you might be interested in this offer from the daily deal site Saveology.

For $24, you get two movie tickets through Fandango and a $10 gift card to Subway.

The movie tickets are worth up to $12 each. So basically, you're getting the Subway gift card free. Not a bad deal.

Here's a great deal for a quick and CHEAP lunch. And who doesn't need that, espcially this time of year.

For the entire month of December, Subway restaurants are offering $2 sub sandwiches.

The deal is good on six-inch Cold Cut Combos and Meatball Marinara sandwiches.

No coupon required!

Restaurants looking to snatch at least a sliver of  your holiday budget are taking their sales pitches straight to your stomach.

Buy one of their gift cards and they'll give you a free meal on the spot.

So far, I've spotted these deals:

Every Tuesday is Kids' Night at Subway restaurants operated by Kangaroo Express, which means kids eat for a buck when you buy a foot-long sub for yourself.

The deal is good from 4 p.m. to close for kids 12 and under.

According to the Kangaroo Express Facebook page, some locations will also have family-friendly activities and coupons available.
