'Mad Men' fans: Give thanks for this free copy of 'Sterling's Gold'

A very wise man once said, "You people are not watching enough television. It is your job. The shows and the ads."

That wise man is Roger Sterling from AMC's acclaimed drama, "Mad Men."

"Mad Men" fans know that Roger Sterling is the king of the one-liners, the comic relief when the show gets a bit too heavy. Now the creator of "Mad Men" has brilliantly compiled some of Roger's more memorable quotes into a book called "Sterling's Gold" (which was the name Roger gave to the memoir he was writing on the show).

The quote-per-page book is fun to read, and would be a great gift for "Mad Men" fans. I thought it sounded like a cheesy idea at first, but then got totally sucked into the book and laughed out loud at many of Roger's quotes. And you have to admit, there's a twisted wisdom in those wisecracks. (Click below for some excerpts).

Here's the good part: We're giving away our copy of "Sterling's Gold: Wit & Wisdom of an Ad Man" by Roger Sterling.

Stuff you need: "Mad Men: The Illustrated World"

Apart from having all the seasons on DVD, I can't think of anything a devoted "Mad Men" fan might want more than the new "Mad Men: The Illustrated World" book by the artist and comedian Dyna Moe.

The book, officially licensed by the show, was released last month and contains more than 90 pages of color 1960s-style illustrations that are  beautiful, instructional, and hilarious.

Dyna Moe gained fame a couple of years ago when she began illustrating one scene from each episode of "Mad Men" and posting them online for everyone to enjoy. The images, some of which are included in the new book, are gorgeous. Browsing through the pages, I wish I could just step into the frame and test out Bryan Batt's "perfect midcentury modern sofa." Or take a stroll through Bert Cooper's artistically impressive office (in my socks, of course).

"Eastbound & Down" free baseball game for iPhone

On HBO's "Eastbound & Down," former professional baseball pitcher Kenny Powers (Danny McBride) has fallen on hard times, but still working on a comeback in Mexico and doing his best to win over fans.

HBO has created a new game for your iPhone (or iPod Touch or iPad) based on Kenny's comeback premise. The game lets Kenny practice his pitching while you practice batting. The "Kenny Powers Home Run Fiesta" app has retro 8-bit graphics, antics and insults from Kenny, and exclusive content from the show.

The app is intended for users 17 years of age and older, since it has mature content (mild profanity, mild violence, mild sexual content, etc).

And watch "Eastbound & Down" on HBO Sunday nights at 10:30.
