UNC Greensboro has concluded its five-year capital campaign. The take? A cool $115 million.
That total bettered the university's goal by more than 15 percent. The Students First Campaign brought in $115,346,891 through gifts and pledges from about 22,000 donors.
Most of that money, about $75 million, will fund the campaign's two key initiatives - undergraduate and graduate student scholarships and faculty development.
The campaign began July 1, 2004 with a $78 million goal, a target later increased to $100 million.
It was bolstered by a $6 million gift from an anonymous donor that will fund an undergrad scholarship fund, a graduate fellowship fund and crate two distinguished professorships.
In all, the campaign won funds for 14 new professorships, 203 new undergrad scholarships, 42 new graduate scholarships, and 155 program funds and student award programs.
