Travel Channel series goes ghost hunting at historic Clinton home

An episode of "The Dead Files" airing Friday night on the Travel Channel will feature a house in Clinton, N.C., that many people have long believed to be haunted.

The Victor R. Small House, a large classic-revival style house built around 1870, was once the home of a local physician who relocated to Clinton from Ohio in 1923. It now belongs to the Sampson Arts Council and is operated as a gallery and museum.

The description for Friday's episode says that volunteers at the Small House believe it to be haunted. The paranormal team of Steve DiSchiavi and Amy Allan (pictured here) from "The Dead Files" investigate, and Steve discovers evidence of a suicide there, while Amy becomes sick with a mysterious illness.

The one-hour episode is titled "The House of Death."

"The Dead Files" will air at 10 p.m. on the Travel Channel.
