Fuquay soccer moves up to 7th

In the latest statewide rankings, the Fuquay-Varina boys soccer team -- still undefeated and unscored on -- moved up a spot to No. 7 in the statewide polls.
Only one team from the Triangle -- Jordan at No. 2 -- is ranked higher than the Bengals.
Green Hope (4-2) is 11th while Apex (4-1) is ranked for the first time this year at 14th.
Athens Drive (4-1-1) is third on the list of teams also receiving votes.
Boys soccer standings and rankings
Submitted by jmikeblake on 09/21/2009 - 07:35The Tri-Nine is once again a force in the state boys soccer scene, now posting four teams in the top 15.
Apex moved up a spot from No. 4 after its 3-1 win over Holly Springs. Middle Creek took out Lee County and Cary to shoot up five spots to No. 8.
Green Hope, after its 3-0 win over Fuquay-Varina, moves back into the top 15 this week at No. 13, just ahead of the Bengals at No. 14. Also receiving votes, but not in the top 15 is Athens Drive.
