Don't forget about pie cook-off Saturday

Don't forget: there's a pie cook-off at the South Estes Farmers' Market in Chapel Hill at 11 a.m. Saturday. There are two categories: sweet and savory. Crust and filling have to be homemade and include at least one local ingredient. Winners receive a $40 gift card to Mad Hatter Bake Shop & Cafe in Durham and a $15 gift card to Sugarland in Chapel Hill.

Tomorrow, the South Estes Farmers' Market is celebrating Earth Day with several special activities. A free composting workshop at 10 a.m. A honey bee display for those who may be interested in having their own hive, and seed planting for the children.
