What to Watch on Sunday: Hiding out with Nucky and Chalky on 'Boardwalk Empire'

Downton Abbey Revisited (8pm, UNC-TV) - Angela Lansbury hosts a look back at the first two seasons of "Downton Abbey," plus a look ahead at Season 3 (which comes to the U.S. in January). Includes interviews with the show's creators and cast members.

2012 Soul Train Awards (8pm, BET) - Cedric the Entertainer hosts the 25th annual gala, at which Don Cornelius and New Edition receive special tributes. Performers include Raphael Saadiq, Ne-Yo, John Legend, Stevie Wonder, 2 Chainz and others.

Boardwalk Empire (9pm, HBO) - Nucky and Eddie hide out with Chalky when Gyp descends on Atlantic City, where his band of thugs takes over the Artemis Club, forcing Gillian to reconsider her business model.

Liz & Dick (9pm, Lifetime) - The tumultuous love affair between Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton gets a very sorry retelling in this Lifetime movie starring Lindsay Lohan and Grant Bowler. Don't believe me? Read this review from Adrienne.

The Good Wife (9pm, CBS) - Alicia and Diane agree to let a famous liberal lawyer to assist them on a case, but they soon realize that he may not have their client's best interests in mind. Meanwhile, Alicia's mother arrives seeking legal and moral support from her daughter and son.

Revenge (9pm, ABC) - An episode set in 2006 finds Victoria's mom visiting her, sparking unpleasant childhood memories for Victoria.

Oprah's Next Chapter (9pm, OWN) - Oprah sits down with Justin Bieber.

The Walking Dead (9pm, AMC) - The Governor seeks information, and a new arrival at the prison forces Rick to make a decision.

Homeland (10pm, Showtime) - Things in Brody's life are threatening to spiral out of control, forcing him to make a phone call he has been avoiding. Also, Carrie preps for a pivotal meeting and Saul teams with Virgil and Max for an assignment.

What to Watch on Sunday: Having faith in Hallmark Hall of Fame

Once Upon a Time (8pm, ABC) - Henry puts himself in danger when he explores a sinkhole he hopes will lead to the fairy tale world, and Jiminy Cricket wants to leave the family business.

Being Chaz (8pm, OWN) - A show following Chaz Bono and his fiance as they navigate their lives together after Chaz's gender-transformation surgery, and as he begins to train for "Dancing with the Stars."

Mitch Albom's Have a Little Faith (9pm, ABC) - Hallmark Hall of Fame presents an adaptation of Mitch Albom's non-fiction book about his life-altering bonds with two religious leaders: one his childhood rabbi (Martin Landau) in New Jersey, the other an African-Amercian Detroit preacher (Laurence Fishburne). He met both men while writing a column on homelessness. Bradley Whitford also stars. (Reminder: Albom is the guy who thinks North Carolinians are all hillbillies. I'll pass.)

The Walking Dead (9pm, AMC) - Tonight's episode is the show's mid-season finale, which means this is the last new episode we'll get till February. And it's a doozy. All secrets are now out in the open, which makes life on the farm pretty tense. I can't say too much without giving away plot details, but I'll say this much: this is an absolutely incredible episode. It's intense and dramatic, and there's a pretty shocking -- and emotional -- ending. DO. NOT. MISS.

2011 Soul Train Awards (9pm, BET) - Cedric the Entertainer hosts the 24th annual gala. Earth, Wind and Fire and Gladys Knight are this year's Legend Award winners.

Real Deal (9pm, History) - Two back-to-back new episodes of a new series about people selling valuable items. Raleigh's Jason McCoon is one of the show's regular featured auctioneers.

Homeland (10pm, Showtime) - Brody's efforts to sever ties with Abu Nazir triggers flashbacks to his time as a captive. Meanwhile, the mosque shooting results in a public-relations nightmare for Carrie.

What to Watch on Sunday: Soul Train Awards, Hallmark tearjerker

November Christmas (9pm, CBS) - A Hallmark Hall of Fame movie about a Rhode Island community that comes together to create special Halloween and Christmas moments several weeks early for an 8-year-old girl (Emily Alyn Lind) with a life-threatening illness. All that means: tearjerker. Stars Sam Elliott, John Corbett, and Sarah Paulson.

Soul Train Awards (9pm, BET) - Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson host the 23rd annual awards show recognizing soul musicians. Anita Baker and Ron Isley are 2010's Legend Award recipients. Performers include Bruno Mars, Cee-Lo, Erykah Badu, Faith Evans, and Keyshia Cole. There's a red carpet pre-show at 8pm.

Boardwalk Empire (9pm, HBO) - Nucky's fear of the consequences of an impending electoral disaster forces him to make changes in the administrative pecking order. Meanwhile, Jimmy is ambivalent about the health of an ailing family member and Val Alden questions Sebso's commitment to their calling.

Dexter (9pm, Showtime) - While on the trail of Lumen's former attackers, Dexter stumbles onto a possible ally, but when the homicide unit finds evidence linked to one of Dexter and Lumen's earlier victims, they are forced to pull back. Meanwhile, Debrra identifies two more suspects in the Barrel Girls investigation.

The Walking Dead (10pm, AMC) - After the brutal zombie attack at camp, Rick and the group set off for the Center for Disease Control in Atlanta, and Jim must face a life-or-death decision. This show gets more intense every week.

Brew Masters (10pm, Discovery) - In this new reality series (premiered last week) chronicling work at a beer brewery, Sam visits Peru to check out an ancient corn-based brew, and the Dogfish staffers whip up "Chicha."

Nicki Minaj: My Time Now (10pm, MTV) - A profile of rapper Nicki Minaj with footage backstage, in the recording studio, and at home with her family in Trinidad.

What to Watch on Wednesday: "Friday Night Lights" and ACC hoops

Faces of America with Henry Louis Gates (8pm, UNC-TV) - Henry Louis Gates Jr. uses genealogy tools and DNA testing to unearth the family histories of 12 prominent people, beginning tonight with figure skater Kristi Yamaguchi, cellist Yo-Yo Ma, and director Mike Nichols.

Friday Night Lights (9pm, DirecTV 101) - The first run of the current season (starring Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton, right) ends tonight. All we'll give away is that it's a Thanksgiving episode and it's good. The NBC run begins on April 30.

Duke at Carolina (9pm, WRAL) - I heard there's a game tonight. Something about a backyard rivalry?

Modern Family (9pm, ABC) - Comedian David Brenner stars as himself when Jay takes Gloria to see a comedy show for Valentine's Day. Also, Mitchell and Cameron try to set Manny up on a date.

Psych (10pm, USA) - Juliet gets Gus to help her locate her old boyfriend, and the search ends up revealing a closely guarded secret. 

Soul Train: The Hippest Trip in America (10pm, VH1 Classic) - The fantastic documentary, which premiered last weekend, repeats tonight.

Black History Month often means a lot of programming featuring African-Americans but not a lot of actual history.

But tonight at 9:30, VHI premieres "Soul Train: The Hippest Trip in America" a documentary on the iconic show that gives plenty of history, culture and nostalgia.

I luuuved it!

What to Watch on Saturday: Take the hippest trip in America

Temple Grandin (8pm, HBO) - The story of animal scientist Temple Grandin (played by Claire Danes) who in the 1950s and 1960s overcame the stigma of Autism to become a leading advocate for the humane treatment of animals. Here's our review.

The Hippest Trip in America (9:30pm, VH1) - This fantastic new documentary on "Soul Train" features clips from the show and interviews with Don Cornelius, Aretha Franklin, Patti LaBelle, Smokey Robinson, and more. Not to be missed! If you don't believe me, read this review.
