These "Single Ladies" may remind you of some other ones

As I watched "Single Ladies" (VH1, 9 tonight), I wondered when sitcoms will stop being a variation of "Friends" or "Sex and the City."

That's not necessarily an indictment of "Single Ladies," which follows the love lives of three friends in Atlanta. It's not revolutionary, but it's not awful either.

OK, sometimes it is pretty silly. Stacey Dash plays Val, a stylist cum boutique owner involved with a basketball star. Her best friends are Keisha (LisaRaye McCoy, not stretching her acting range at all), the self-proclaimed gold digger who vows to not let emotions get in her way; and April (Charity Shea), their blonde friend with a husband whom adores her.

Carrie Bradshaw's wedding dress ... now for sale in Charlotte

Minus the bird for the head. And it doesn't come with any of that Big drama, of course (unless you want it).

But you, too, can have the Vivienne Westwood dress that helped make Carrie Bradshaw get a little Bridezillaish over her wedding to Big in "Sex and the City: The Movie."

The dress is for sale at Hayden Olivia Bridal in Charlotte. The store was one of three boutiques in the country to offer what's become the famous wedding gown.

What's so special about it other than the obvious? It has exaggerated darts, a slim-fitting waist and pointy, sculptural details. The top is based on a corset made of a gold backed ivory silk satin duchess. The underskirt is made of ivory silk faille.

Westwood has committed to making about 30 custom versions of the dress.

Cost? $15,000, which includes optional fittings with Vivienne Westwood designers in London. (It's around the same amount as a Vera Wang gown, only with this dress, you get to say it's the Carrie Bradshaw.)

Want to schedule a fitting? Call 704-333-0377.
