Scotty McCreery is heading back to the show that made him famous this week as "American Idol" crowns its newest winner.

Scotty, the Garner High School student who won Season 10 of the popular singing show a year ago, will perform on Tuesday night's show and then be on hand for the blowout "Idol" finale on Wednesday night.

On that show, either Phillip Phillips of Leesburg, Ga., or Jessica Sanchez of San Diego will be named the winner of Season 11. (Even without hearing their final songs, we'd bet the ranch on Phillip.)

It’s becoming a bit old hat for Scotty McCreery — another country music association announces award nominees, and the Garner High School student is a contender.

On Monday, CMT announced that Scotty’s music video for “The Trouble With Girls” has been nominated for “Breakthrough Video of the Year” at this year’s CMT Music Awards, to air on June 6 on the country music cable channel.

Fans can go online to vote for Scotty at www.cmt.com through June 4. Carrie Underwood – like Scotty, a former “American Idol” winner – leads the nominations with five.

Scotty’s fellow nominees in the breakthrough category have all competed against him before – Lauren Alaina, who has runner-up when Scotty won the 10th season of “Idol” a year ago; Brantley Gilbert and Hunter Hayes, both of whom were nominated against Scotty for Best New Artist at the Academy of Country Music Awards earlier this month; and Pistol Annies and Thompson Square, both of whom were nominated against Scotty for Top New Artist in December’s American Country Awards.

Hart of Dixie (9pm, CW) - Scotty McCreery makes an appearance on tonight's episode, but there's no acting involved -- he'll be playing himself. The "American Idol" winner from Garner will perform his hit "The Trouble With Girls" during a romantic scene in a bar featuring Zoe (Rachel Bilson) and George (Scott Porter). Raleigh's Tift Merritt had a similar gig on "Hart of Dixie" back in February. Tift sang "Sweet Spot" at the town's annual Valentine's dance. Bones (8pm, Fox) - Booth's son Parker comes home from England, and Brennan wonders how he'll react to his new baby sister. Meanwhile, the discovery of a truck-company employee's corpse in the woods prompts a visit to the victim's son's karate class.

American Pickers (9pm, History) - Mike searches for the legendary XAVW motorbike in North Carolina, and Frank gambles on a collection of Indian artifacts. Also in this episode, architectural salvage and a military artifact.

20/20: Dance Floor Confidential (10pm, ABC) - ABC squeezes another hour of programming from their "Dances with the Stars" franchise by having 20/20 go "behind the scenes."

Smash (10pm, NBC) - Karen finds Rebecca's charmed life very enticing, but Derek finds Rebecca to be exasperating. Meanwhile, Eileen has her ex-husband meet her hunky new boyfriend, and Julia's son goes missing (First thought: "Hooray!" Second thought: "I hope Ellis is with him!"). 

Scotty McCreery picked up another fan-voted accolade last night when he was named New Artist of the Year at the 47th Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas."I’ve got to thank the fans — you guys are incredible!” said the 18-year-old Garner High School senior, who was named the winner of the 10th season of “American Idol” less than a year ago. Scotty also thanked the country music community and Jesus.

Scotty attended the three-hour ceremony, broadcast live on CBS, with his parents, Mike and Judy McCreery of Garner, and his sister, Ashley, a Charlotte college student.

He won the honor over fellow newcomers Hunter Hayes and Brantley Gilbert. Fans cast votes for their favorites over the past two weeks. Each of the three performed a snippet of a song from the Mandalay Bay resort, at a fan bash just down the street from the awards at the MGM Grand. In Scotty’s case, he apparently rushed back to the MGM from Mandalay just in time to hear his name called.

Academy of Country Music Awards (8pm, CBS) - Reba McEntire and Blake Shelton host, and Kenny Chesney leads with nine nominations. Garner's Scotty McCreery is up for Best New Artist.

The Killing (8pm, AMC) - A two-hour Season 2 premiere picks up where Season 1 ended -- Detective Linden (Mirielle Enos, right) realizes her partner, Detective Holder (Joel Kinnaman, right), has been lying to her and that the arrest of mayoral candidate Darren Richmond (Billy Campbell) was a mistake. So yeah, they are still searching for Rosie Larsen's killer, which is fine with me. This slowly-paced drama isn't for everyone, but I love it and I'm happy it's back.

Celebrity Apprentice (8pm, NBC) - A special three-hour "Celebrity Apprentice" tonight includes the mixing of teams in the second half of the show. The first challenge, though, will be to create and sell a guidebook about New York City, with Regis Philbin judging the final product. In the second part of the episode, the newly formed teams must create an interactive health segment.

Finding Your Roots with Henry Louis Gates, Jr. (8pm, UNC-TV) - Tonight, Gates helps Barbara Walters and Geoffrey Canada (Harlem's Children Zoo) research their family trees.

American Idol (8pm, Fox) - Garner's Scotty McCreery returns to "Idol" tonight and performs a song from his hit album.

Community (8pm, NBC) - A sandwich shop opens in the cafeteria, drawing the ire of Shirley, Pierce and Britta, who scheme to close the place down.

Touch (9pm, Fox) - Martin discovers that a homeless man's obsession with numbers is similar to Jake's, and he undertakes a series of tasks that involve African boys in a dance competition and a woman at a music festival. 

Awake (10pm, NBC) - Michael (Jason Isaacs, right) tracks a serial killer, but an FBI agent says he's as a suspect in his own case. Meanwhile, Hannah (Laura Allen, right) considers moving to Oregon and Michael's therapists believe the change will help him heal and put an end to his dreams.

The Mentalist (10pm, CBS) - The investigation of a casino worker's homicide reunites Jane with a magician he used to tour with when he was a practicing psychic.

Mary Mary (10pm, WeTV) - The debut of a new reality series following the gospel duo Mary Mary. In this first episode, a big Thanksgiving gig forces the women to make tough choices. The regular timeslot for this series will be Thursdays at 9. Check out Adrienne's review.

Scotty McCreery is again hoping that his fans will come through for him in a national voting contest.

Starting today, voting began online for the Academy of Country Music’s “New Artist of the Year” Award. Scotty, the 18-year-old Garner High School senior, is one of three finalists competing for the prize.

The winner will be announced live on the 47th Academy of Country Music Awards on April 1 on CBS.

“The fans have been great to me when it comes to getting down and voting,” Scotty said in an interview last month.

Scotty McCreery lived out his dream Saturday afternoon: one of the dreams he had before he became an “American Idol.”

McCreery played in his first varsity baseball game for the Garner Trojans, pitching the seventh inning of the Trojans’ 8-7 loss to Fuquay-Varina, one of the area’s best teams.

American Idol (8pm, Fox) - Eliminations begin tonight. New this season: a version of Garner's Scotty McCreery singing Tim McGraw's "Please Remember Me" will be played each week when a contestant is voted off. Scotty, the winner of last year's "Idol" contest, will most likely return to the show in person at some point this season.

30 Rock (8pm, NBC) - All new comedies on NBC tonight, starting with "30 Rock." Kenneth's new job pits him against Liz while Jack squares off against his teen nemesis, the sly Kaylie Hooper.

Saving Face (8:30pm, HBO) - This Academy Award-winner for Best Documentary Short debuts tonight on HBO. Read more about it here.

Awake (10pm, NBC) - As he continues to navigate his two versions of reality, Michael investigates the murder of a homeless person, with a mysterious man with short stature soon materializing as a suspect. Meanwhile, the accident that shattered Michael's life comes into clearer focus.
