What to Watch on Saturday: Adam Levine and Kendrick Lamar on 'SNL'

Pit Boss (9pm, Animal Planet) - A pit bull is trapped in a house that requires Shorty to break in. Also, Ashley takes a break from the kennel to produce a commercial for Shortywood, but it may be more trouble than it's worth.

20/20: Breaking Polygamy (10pm, ABC) - A report on the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, a polygamous sect led by Warren Jeffs. Included, a woman who escaped the organization with her children.

Saturday Night Live (11:29pm, NBC) - Adam Levine hosts, and the music guest is Kendrick Lamar.

Austin City Limits (Midnight) - Bob Mould showcases songs from his 2012 "Silver Age" album, and Delta Spirit perform selections from its self-titled 2012 release.

What to Watch on Saturday: Jennifer Lawrence and the Lumineers on 'SNL'

Prosecuting Casey Anthony (8pm, Lifetime) - I'm kinda surprised it took Lifetime so long to get around to this one: a dramatization of the infamous Casey Anthony murder trial as seen through the eyes of prosecutor Jeff Ashton. It stars Rob Lowe. Adrienne reviews.

Tasmanian Devil (9pm, Syfy) - A movie about five daredevils who illegally parachute into a remote part of Tasmania, where they are terrorized by giant versions of the indigenous carnivores, Tasmanian devils.

Pit Boss (9pm, Animal Planet) - A dog on a motocross track presents a potentially dangerous rescue attempt for Shorty. Meanwhile, Ashley is stressed out by her increased responsibilities and she inadvertently books Ronald and Sebastian for a gig that requires nudity.

Saturday Night Live (11:29pm, NBC) - Jennifer Lawrence hosts with musical guests the Lumineers.

Austin City Limits (Midnight, UNC-TV) - Norah Jones highlights songs from her 2012 "Little Broken Hearts" album, and Kat Edmonson performs selections from her 2012 "Way Down Low" album.

What to Watch on Saturday: Christmas movies all day and all night

Miracle on 34th Street (4:45pm, AMC) - Maybe my favorite Christmas movie of all time. Maybe. Edmund Gwenn won an Oscar for his portrayal of the department store Santa on trial to prove he's real in this heartwarming 1947 Christmas fantasy.

White Christmas (7pm, AMC) - Irving Berlin's music plus the singing and dancing of Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye and Rosemary Clooney? Yes, it's the 1954 classic "White Christmas." It airs again at 9:45.

Elf (8pm, CBS) - In this 2003 movie, a human (Will Ferrell) who has been raised by elves leaves the North Pole to search for his gruff birth father (James Caan) in New York City. Also stars Zooey Deschanel, Bob Newhart, Edward Asner and Mary Steenburgen.

Baby's First Christmas (8pm, Hallmark) - A new movie in which feuding lawyers spend Christmas together for the birth of their married siblings' son. But when the pair discover their siblings are in major financial trouble, they set out to solve the problem and end up on an adventure around the city.

Merry In-Laws (8pm, Lifetime) - A new movie in which a woman learns that her future in-laws are Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus.

The Real St. Nick (10pm, Lifetime) - Another new Lifetime movie, this one about about a psychiatrist who reluctantly falls for a cute guy who is placed in a psychiatric ward after he claims he is Santa Claus.

Hitched for the Holidays (10pm, Hallmark) - A single New Yorker hires a woman to pose as his girlfriend to appease his family during the holidays. But as the two spend more time together attending parties and gatherings, their fake relationship starts to feel real.

Saturday Night Live (11:29, NBC) - Martin Short hosts and Paul McCartney is the  musical guest. 

What to Watch on Wednesday: Charlie Brown and Rock Center bring Christmas spirit

Arrow (8pm, CW) - The Huntress, who is the daughter of mob boss Frank Bertinelli, arrives in Starling City. Oliver is smitten with her but soon learns she is hiding some dark secrets.

Christmas in Rockefeller Center (8pm, NBC) - Al Roker and Savannah Guthrie host the 80th annual lighting of the Christmas tree in Manhattan. Scotty McCreery is one of the scheduled performers!

Charlie Brown Christmas (8pm, ABC) - In the Emmy and Peabody-winning animated cartoon from 1965, the Peanuts gang mounts a holiday pageant as Charlie Brown bemoans Yuletide commercialism. This broadcast also features "Prep & Landing: Operation Secret Santa," a short featuring the prep-and-landing elves on a cover mission to Santa's office, with Betty White providing the voice of Mrs. Claus.

SNL Christmas (9pm, NBC) - A two-hour look at memorable holiday sketches from Saturday Night Live.

Modern Family (9pm, ABC) - Mitchell reluctantly joins Cameron in a campaign to save an old tree in a park, and Gloria's pregnancy makes a trip to a big-box store with Claire a memorable one.

American Horror Story: Asylum (10pm, FX) - Sister Mary Eunice senses an evil presence at Briarcliff (besides herself, that is). And later, Kit attempts to reunite with Grace.

Hot in Cleveland (10pm, TV Land) - In the Season 4 premiere, the ladies learn the identity of the baby who was left on their doorstep.

Happily Divorced (10:30pm, TV Land) - Fran faces a romantic dilemma when she can't decide between Elliot and Frankie, but her ultimate choice is questioned by Peter's new boss.

What to Watch on Saturday: Megan Fox guests stars on 'Wedding Band'

Holiday High School Reunion (8pm, Lifetime) - A movie in which a struggling fashion designer returns home during Christmas and attends her high school reunion, where she dreams of reuniting with a guy she let get away.

Matchmaker Santa (8pm, Hallmark) - A bakery owner (Lacey Chabert) who hopes to whip up a holiday engagement with her busy boyfriend (Thad Luckinbill) finds an unexpected new love when a mysterious mall Santa doubles as a meddling cupid. Also stars Florence Henderson, John Ratzenberger and Adam Mayfield.

Wedding Band (10pm, TVS) - A beautiful sci-fi star (Megan Fox) is drawn to Tommy (Brian Austin Green) when his band plays at a Comic-Con event. Elsewhere, two geeky high school boys try to hire the band to perform at a party.

Fatal Vows (10pm, Investigation Discovery) - A new true crime series chronicling divorces that turned deadly begins with a look at a retired Navy commander in Virginia who had a seemingly idyllic relationship with his wife. Each episode features the insights of Brian Russell, an attorney who is also a forensic and clinical psychologist, and Stacy Kaiser, a licensed psychotherapist and relationship expert.

Saturday Night Live (11:29, NBC) - Jeremy Renner is the host, and Maroon 5 is the musical guest. (Hoping for at least one sketch with Adam Levine, preferably in a creepy "American Horror Story" sketch.)

Austin City Limits (Midnight, UNC-TV) - Tonight's episode is a rerun, but it's a good one. Mumford and Sons perform from their 2009 album "Sigh No More."

'Saturday Night Live' takes on 'Homeland' -- and nails it

I can't decide what part of this amazing "Homeland" sketch from last night's SNL is my favorite. Bill Hader's perfect Saul (Mandy Patinkin)? Anne Hathaway as a manic Carrie (Claire Danes)? Or maybe Nasim Pedrad (who is quickly becoming a favorite) as Dana, wandering through the scenes looking for her dad. If you watch "Homeland," you'll love this.

What to Watch on Saturday: New Christmas flicks and the Carolina Chocolate Drops

The Wishing Tree (8pm, Hallmark) - A lonely teacher struggling to move on after the death of his wife, works with a group of troubled students over the holidays to help make the town's wishing-tree fundraiser a success. He finds new hope when he turns a troubled teen's life around. Stars Jason Gedrick and Richard Harmon.
The Christmas Consultant (8pm, Lifetime) - A workaholic mother hires an over-eager consultant to help get her family through the hectic holiday season, but soon his enthusiastic antics start derailing her career-making deal. Stars David Hasselhoff and Caroline Rhea (left).

Ghost Storm (9pm, Syfy) - A movie about a group of people who weather a deadly electrical storm that's powered by supernatural forces.

Wedding Band (10pm, TBS) - The first episode of a new comedy about four friends with day jobs who escape their daily stress by playing in a Seattle wedding band. In tonight's premiere, Tommy's ex-girlfriend arrives with news that she's getting married and wants Tommy's group to play at the wedding. Stars Brian Austin Green and Harold Perrineau. Adrienne reviews.

Saturday Night Live (11:29, NBC) - Girl power! Anne Hathaway hosts and Rihanna is the music guest.

Austin City Limits (Midnight, UNC-TV) - The 2012 Americana Music Festival featuring Alabama Shakes, the Carolina Chocolate Drops, Patty Griffin, Bonnie Raitt and Richard Thompson.

What to Watch on Saturday: Larry Wilmore looks at race, religion and sex in Florida

The Eleventh Victim (8pm, Lifetime) - A New York therapist, who was once an Atlanta assistant district attorney, pursues a serial killer she once prosecuted after he is suspected of murdering some of her clients.

Plane Crash (9pm, Discovery) - A 727 plane is programmed to crash into a desert via remote control in an effort to improve airline safety.

Larry Wilmore's Race, Religion and Sex in Florida (10pm, Showtime) - Larry Wilmore (right, "The Daily Show") heads to Florida for this one-hour town hall-style comedy special, examining the socially, ethnically, religiously and economically diverse state that will help determine the outcome of the presidential election. The special features comedians Paul Rodriguez and Moshe Kasher, Republican strategist Ron Christie and Current TV's Ana Kasparian. Wilmore, who describes himself as "passionate centrist," acts as host and moderator, and also conducts man on the street interviews.

Doomsday Preppers Bugged Out (10pm, National Geographic Channel) - A man prepares for an economic collapse by building spider holes in the Sierra Nevada mountains. Also, a woman prepares her family for an ecological disaster and a couple live underground in a missile-silo bunker.

Pit Bulls and Parolees (10pm, Animal Planet) - Tia, Tania and newest parolee Randy race to Nashville to rescue a dog from death row. With Tia away, Mariah battles a storm that threatens to flood Villalobos. Finally, one of the puppies rescued from the ninth ward has a chance at finding a forever home.

Saturday Night Live (11:29, NBC) - Seriously can't wait for this: Comedian Louis C.K. hosts SNL. The musical guest is Fun.

What to Watch on Saturday: HBO movie shows 'The Girl' of Hitchcock's obsession

A Nanny's Revenge (8pm, Lifetime) - A woman vows revenge against a wealthy contractor who is responsible for her parents' death. She sets her plan into motion by getting a job as a nanny in the man's house.

Too Cute (8pm, Animal Planet) - The first few months of litters of kittens and puppies are observed. How you can resist this?

The Girl (9pm, HBO) - An HBO original movie depicting the unusual relationship between actress Tippi Hedren and filmmaker Alfred Hitchcock. In the film, model Hedren gets her big acting break after Hitchcock casts in her his 1963 thriller, "The Birds." But what begins as a promising professional relationship turns sour when the director becomes dangerously obsessed with his leading lady. Stars Toby Jones, who played Truman Capote in "Infamous," and Sienna Miller. Adrienne reviews.

Celebrity Ghost Stories (9pm, BIO) - Two new back-to-back episodes tonight. Lucky, right? In the first, Biz Markie gets advice from a ghost. At 10, Dick Cavett encounters a ghost in a mansion (which, really, is where all ghosts should live).

Bedlam (9pm, BBC America) - A wedding forces Ellie to reflect on her own failed engagement, and she finds comfort in an unexpected place.

Pit Bulls and Parolees (10pm, Animal Planet) - A volunteer at Villalobos adopts a dog with an uncommon history, and a man who rescued two dogs needs help caring for them from Tia and her daughter Mariah.

Saturday Night Live (11:29pm, NBC) - Bruno Mars pulls double duty as host and music guest.

What to Watch on Saturday: Getting hitched on Hallmark

The Seven Year Hitch (8pm, Hallmark Movie Channel) - A slacker tries to prevent his best friend and roommate from marrying the wrong man by claiming their seven-year cohabitation makes them common-law spouses. Stars soap stars Natalie Hall ("All My Children") and Darin Brooks ("Days of Our Lives"), at left.

Chicago Fire (9pm, NBC) - If you missed the premiere of this firefighter drama on Wednesday, this is your chance to catch it.

Bedlam (9pm, BBC America) - Ellie and Max try to save a young woman from a watery grave, while Dan gets closer to uncovering the identity of the mystery blogger.

Bayou Billionaires (9pm, CMT) - The Dowdens make plans to film a zombie movie that Gerald insists on directing. In a 9:30 episode, the Dowdens visit New Orleans, where Kitty considers buying a bed & breakfast.

Pit Bulls and Parolees (10pm, Animal Planet) - A family that lost a dog to cancer are hoping to adopt another pet. And Tia and her daughter confront a sick and angry dog in New Orleans' 9th Ward.

Saturday Night Live (11:29, NBC) - Christina Applegate is the host, with music guest Passion Pit.
