Amazing Race (8pm, CBS) - The final three teams race to the finish line to claim the $1 million top prize.

The Simpsons (8pm, Fox) - After Homer is jailed on New Year's Eve for bribery, he agrees to go undercover as an informant against mobster Fat Tony (voiced by Joe Mantegna) to reduce his sentence. Jon Hamm does the voice of the FBI investigator.

Dexter (9pm, Showtime) - In the fifth-season finale, Dexter (Michael C. Hall) smells a trap being set for him and Lumen (Julia Stiles, left) and pulls out all the stops in an effort to avoid getting caught in it. Elsewhere, personal feelings get in the way of Debra's investigation into the Barrel Girls, and Quinn gets in a bind from which only Dexter can extricate him.

Wishful Drinking (9pm, HBO) - Carrie Fisher's autobigraphical stage production chronicles her life in and out of show business as the daughter of singer Eddie Fisher and actress Debbie Reynolds. Here's our review.

Hot in Cleveland (9pm, TV Land) - Betty White, Valerie Bertinelli, Jane Leeves, and Wendie Malick look back at the best moments (and bloopers) of their inaugural season. They also preview Season 2, which begins in January.

Marry Me (9pm, Lifetime) - In part one of a two-part movie, a social worker (Lucy Liu) with aspirations of a fairy-tale romance is torn between three suitors, all of whom propose to her. Steven Pasquale and Bobby Cannavale also star. Adrienne reviews it.

Sarah Palin's Alaska (9pm, TLC) - Palin takes fellow reality star Kate Gosselin and her brood on a camping trip.

Brothers & Sisters (10pm, ABC) - The Walkers are without their matriarch for Christmas when Nora takes off for a last-minute vacation with Karl. Meanwhile, Saul runs into a former lover (Richard Chamberlain).

Betty White: America's Golden Girl (8pm, TV Guide Network) - A look at the life and career of Betty White, including her marriage to Allen Ludden, her years on "The Golden Girls," and the fan-driven campaign that led to her hosting "Saturday Night Live."

Sarah Palin's Alaska (9pm, TLC) - It's the debut of Sarah Palin: Reality Star. In the first episode of Palin's new reality series, the former Alaska governor goes salmon fishing with her family, and she and Todd visit Denali National Park. Maybe at some point we check out that famous view of Russia from her house. We didn't get an advance copy of the show, so we have no review. But there are plenty of them out there, like this one (Time magazine), or this one (LA Times), or this one (The New Yorker). You can also check out these photos from the show.

Boardwalk Empire (9pm, HBO) - Jimmy returns from Chicago to help Nucky in the escalating war with his rivals, but is given a rude welcome by agent Val Alden.

Desperate Housewives (9pm, ABC) - Gaby and Carlos learn that the Sanchezes, who are raising their biological daughter Grace, are illegal immigrants. Bree learns some of Keith's family secrets over Thanksgiving dinner with his parents (John Schneider and Nancy Travis).

Brothers & Sisters (10pm, ABC) - Luc's charismatic (and sexy) mother tries to play matchmaker for a reluctant Nora, and even sparks a little heat of her own with Justin. This episode is directed by Matthew Rhys (Kevin).

Bored to Death (10pm, HBO) - In the second season finale, Jonathan (Jason Schwartzman) asks Drake for help in catching Ray's (Zach Galifianakis) stalker before the Broooklyn Comic Con, and George (Ted Danson) stands up for his principles at the magazine.

The Walking Dead (10pm, AMC) - Against his better judgement, Rick heads back to Atlanta to recover his cache of guns and ammo left behind when the zombies dragged him off that poor horse (RIP, horsie). He also, for some reason, hopes to retrieve the violent bigot left behind during the escape. I'm assuming at least part of him will be where they left him, right?

A first look at "Sarah Palin's Alaska" from TLC

Here's what you've all been waiting for! The first trailer for TLC's new 8-week reality series, "Sarah Palin's Alaska."

From the clip, it looks like the program will show Palin and her family fishin' and huntin' and sleddin' and four-wheelin' and all that good wholesome stuff. At one point Palin says, ""I'd rather be doing this than in some stuffy old political office. I'd rather be out here being free."

In light of the revelations about the repurposing of old interviews for Sarah Palin's new Fox News show, "Real American Stories," the folks at NPR's "Wait Wait, Don't Tell Me" decided to have a little fun with her and leak this exclusive footage of her new TLC documentary show on Alaska.
