Restaurant News: Cantina 18 opens, Sandwhich to move

Chef Jason Smith of 18 Seaboard has opened a new restaurant: Cantina 18, what Smith calls "inspired Southwestern, very fresh, very fun."

Cantina 18 opened at Cameron Village across from the Village Draft House between Bailey's and Seagrove Pottery. The address is 433 Daniels St.

The restaurant opened Saturday, and is open for lunch today.

Also Sandwhich of Chapel Hill is moving to the former Patio Loco locations, next to McDonald's on Franklin St.  They will serve dinner and brunch in the new location.

They will close for 2 to 3 weeks in April and hope to reopen at the end of April.

But they will remain open at their current location for the next week!

$9.99 for the works at Sandwhich

From October 1-15, Sandwhich in Chapel Hill is offering a prix fixe meal deal: $9.99 for your choice of sandwich, cup of soup or chips, bottled water or house beverage, and the restaurant's signature Antidepressant Chocolate Chip Cookie.

Not bad for a shop whose sandwiches have recently garnered praise from Bon Appétit and Vanity Fair magazines.

Sandwhich gets national press

Chapel Hill's Sandwhich got a shout out in July's issue of Vanity Fair and recently on the Huffington Post.
