What to Watch on Saturday: British invasion of vampires, actresses, royal love

Prince William & Catherine: A Royal Love Story (8pm, OWN) - A two-part report on Prince William and Kate Middleton's romance begins with her first notice of him as a secondary-school student. They actually met at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland, where they were friends before they dated.

Being Human (UK) (9pm, BBC America) - Herrick pits George against Mitchell in the Season 3 finale, and Nina's fate hangs in the balance while Annie battles Lia for Nina's soul.

Death of a Sea Monster (9pm, National Geographic Channel) - Archaeologists examine the fossilized remains of huge marine predators from the Jurassic era, including a complete ichthyosaur skeleton on a large island in the Arctic. Not a documentary about the passing of Sigmund.

Ferocious Planet (9pm, Syfy) - An experimental device malfunctions, transporting a group of observers to another dimension. The group must repair the machine in order to return home, while fending off bloodthirsty creatures.

Colin Quinn: Long Story Short (10pm, HBO) - Colin Quinn's acclaimed one-man Broadway show in which he relates the history of the world by juxtaposing historic events and more modern times. Read more.

Saturday Night Live (11:29pm, NBC) - British actress Helen Mirren is the host and the musical guest is the Foo Fighters.

What to Watch on Saturday: The Final Four, Elton John hosts SNL

NCAA Tournament (6pm, CBS) - The Final Four games start at 6pm with Butler vs. Virginia Commonwealth, then UConn takes on Kentucky at 8:30. I hope you're good with that, because there's not much else on tonight.

Kids Choice Awards (8pm, Nickelodeon) - Jack Black hosts the 24th annual celebration honoring kids' favorites in film, tv, music, and sports. Scheduled to perform: The Black Eyed Peas, Train, Big Time Rush, and Willow Smith. Justin Timberlake receives the Big Help Award. The show repeats at 10pm.

Saturday Night Live (11:29pm, NBC) - Elton John is the host, and also serves as music guest, along with Leon Russell. Check out his promos with Jason Sudekis. I have to admit the second one cracked me up more than it should have.

What to Watch on Saturday: 'No Ordinary Family' move is ominous portent

NCAA Tournament (4:30 and 7:05pm, CBS) - The games continue, but Duke is out. Look for Florida vs. Butler at 4:30pm and UConn vs. Arizona at 7:05.

Dancing with the Stars (8pm, ABC) - A repeat of this week's season premiere episode, in case you missed it (and our recap, if you'd rather just read about it).

Scream of the Banshee (9pm, Syfy) - In this new Syfy film, a murderous monster is unleashsed after an archaeology professor (Lauren Holly) and her students unearth an antique box and free the bloodthirsty banshee inside. Before long, they each begin to perish under mysterious circumstances.

No Ordinary Family (10pm, ABC) - Though not officially canceled, the move of a new episode to 10pm on a Saturday can't be a good sign for the amazing Powells. Neither can the fact that the show's stars, Julie Benz and Michael Chiklis, have already signed on with new comedy pilots on CBS. (For what it's worth, I thought the 'No Ordinary Family' pilot was fun and showed promise, but I quickly grew tired of it). In light of all that, the plot of tonight's show sounds exceptionally prescient: Stephanie gets a glimpse into the future that does not bode well for the family, so she tries to alter events in the present to protect them and their secret. Unless her plan includes destroying CBS, then . . .

Pit Boss (10pm, Animal Planet) - Shorty doubts the effectiveness of his rescue efforts.

Norm Macdonald: Me Doing Stand-Up (11:30pm, Comedy Central) - The former SNL star's latest (very funny) stand-up special.

Saturday Night Live (11:30pm, NBC) - Tonight's episode is a repeat, and not even a very good one. Russell Brand is the host and Chris Brown is the musical guest.

Zach Galifianakis interviews for a new assistant on 'SNL'

I thought Zach Galifianakis was great (again) hosting SNL last night. His monologue was bizarre and hilarious, but maybe the thing that cracked up the most was Zach interviewing for a new assistant. Watch that sketch below, then head over to SNL to watch the rest of the show. Be sure to catch the ending, where Zach shows up to say goodnight with a mohawk, lamenting the cutting of the "Mr. T" sketch (during his first hosting job, Zach shaved his beard for the final skit).

What to Watch on Saturday: Nick flick for the kids, Galifianakis hosts 'SNL'

ACC Tournament (1pm, WRAL) - Games today at 1pm (UNC vs. Clemson) and 3pm (Duke vs. Virginia Tech).

Best Player (8pm, Nickelodeon) - This original Nick movie featuring the stars of 'iCarly' is about a video game expert (Jerry Trainor) who tries to stop a rival (Jennette McCurdy) from entering a tournament by befriending her and dating her mother.

Must Love Cats (8pm, Animal Planet) - Host John Fulton travels to the Southwest where he meets cats with a frontier flair. And since everything grows bigger in Texas, it's no surprise he finds some oversized kitties there. Also, a trip to Kitty City in New Mexico before heading back to California. Next week's show is the final one for the season (series?).

Rascal Flatts: Nothing Like This (9pm, ABC) - The country music group Rascal Flatts perform at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minnesota. Natasha Beddingfield and Justin Bieber make guest appearances.

Battle of Los Angeles (9pm, Syfy) - A new Syfy movie in which alien spacecraft attack Los Angeles in the first wave of an invasion on earth, and humanity's survival depends upon two soldiers who must breach the mother ship and destroy it from within. Stars Nia Peeples and Kel Mitchell.

Bobby's Ireland (9pm, Food) - Bobby Flay embarks on a food tour of Ireland and explores Dublin's changing culinary scene with Chef Clodagh McKenna.

Ron White's Comedy Salute to the Troops (9pm, CMT) - Lewis Black, Vic Henley, Kathleen Madigan, Rascal Flatts, Margo Rey and Tim Wilson perform in a comedic and musical salute to the troops from Nashville.

Saturday Night Live (11:29pm, NBC) - Zach Galifianakis (right) returns as host, and the musical guest is Jessie J.

Zach Galifianakis hosts SNL again. Watch the promo.

Zach Galifianakis is hosting 'Saturday Night Live' again this weekend, and I can't wait. The Wilkesboro native (and Wolfpacker) was great last time he hosted.

Here are the promos for the show, featuring Galifianakis and Andy Samberg.

What to Watch on Saturday: Duke at UNC, Miley Cyrus at SNL

Duke at UNC (8pm, WRAL) - It's the big rematch: Duke at North Carolina. Mentioning it here because you probably won't hear about it anywhere else.

Must Love Cats (8pm, Animal Planet) - John Fulton looks at the origins of the domestic shorthair cat and catches up with some mouse-catching kitties in New York City. Also, a look at the various breeds that compete in CFA cat shows. Two hours of pit bulls follows.

Caroline Rhea & Friends (9pm, Showtime) - A new special from actress-comedian Caroline Rhea, in which she introduces up-and-coming comics Costaki Economopoulos, Ryan Hamilton, Page Hurwitz, and Liam McEneaney.

Saturday Night Live (11:30pm, NBC) - Miley Cyrus (right with Kenan Thompson) hosts, but the really good news is the musical guest is the Strokes.

Austin City Limits (Midnight, UNC-TV) - A repeat featuring Aimee Mann.

What to Watch on Sunday: A heartbroken tiger tale, 'Episodes' finale

Broken Tail: A Tiger's Last Journey (8pm, UNC-TV) - In this "Nature" special, wildlife filmmaker Colin Stafford-Johnson follows the trek of Broken Tail, a 2-year-old tiger that disappeared from a tiger reserve in India and was killed by a train 100 miles away. Stafford-Johnson had spent 600 days filming Broken Tail and his family prior to the disappearance.

Amazing Race: Unfinished Business (8pm, CBS) - The 18th season starts with 11 former losing teams getting a second chance at the $1 million prize. The race starts in Palm Springs, California, and continues to Sydney, Australia, where the teams swim with sharks.

Saturday Night Live Backstage (9pm, NBC) - A two-hour behind-the-scenes special that focuses on the guest host experience. Told through clips and interviews.

Big Love (9pm, HBO) - Barb's choice of an ally in her pursuit of the priesthood displeases her mother (Ellen Burstyn) and Bill faces a Mormon boycott of his stores.

Episodes (9:30pm, Showtime) - In the season finale, the disastrous "Puck!" pilot wraps and a disappointed Sean (Stephen Mangan) and Beverly (Tamsin Greig) prepare to return to London. A final goodbye between Matt LeBlanc and Sean (left) takes an unexpected turn thanks to a missing Jaguar, a red-nosed reindeer, and cinnamon. There's some really funny physical comedy in this episode. Looking forward to a Season 2!

CSI: Miami (10pm, CBS) - The man who murdered Horatio's returns and spreads violence across Miami. Add in a ticking puck at an NHL All-Star game and we might have another "Threat Level Midnight" on our hands. Oops, wrong network.

Brothers & Sisters (10pm, ABC) - Nora is torn over a possible reconnection with her long-ago boyfriend Brody (Beau Bridges), and Justin tries to help a homeless veteran who doesn't want his help. Directed by Matthew Rhys, who plays Kevin on the show.

What to Watch on Saturday: Syfy film born and bred in North Carolina

Eyeborgs (6:30pm, Syfy) - This original Syfy thriller about an FBI agent battling an army of weaponized security cameras hacked by terrorists has some pretty strong North Carolina roots. It was written and directed by former North Carolina School of the Arts School of Filmmaking faculty member Richard Clabaugh, and was shot by UNCSA students and faculty in the Winston-Salem area in 2007. The film also features UNCSA School of Drama faculty member Dale Anthony Girard. Additionally, ten other alumni of the school served on the film's stunt team.

Must Love Cats (8pm, Animal Planet) - The premiere episode of a great new series that focuses on felines. Tonight, songwriting host John Fulton travels to San Francisco, where a cat is suspected of multiple burglaries, and then to Los Angeles to try some coffee made from beans scooped out of cat poop. I love cats but I can't get behind that last thing...

The Sunset Limited (9pm, HBO) - Tommy Lee Jones directs this adaptation of Cormac McCarthy's 2006 play, which follows interaction between two men: a white, atheistic professor (Jones) and a black, religious ex-con (Samuel L. Jackson), who saved the former from committing suicide by throwing himself in front of a subway train. Check out our review.

Accidentally In Love (9pm, Hallmark) - A kids show actor (Ethan Erickson) and a single mom (Jennie Garth) butt heads after the two are in a car accident. But while dealing with the fallout from the crash, the pair begin to make a connection. But, the actor's secrets threaten to ruin the romance.

Stand Up for Family (9pm, Showtime) - Family-friendly stand-up comedy sets by Earthquake, Doug Williams, Will Sylvince, Pat Brown, Nikki Carr, and D'Lai. Bill Bellamy is the host.

Saturday Night Live (11:30, NBC) - Russell Brand hosts, music guest is Chris Brown.

What to Watch on Saturday: Sally from "Mad Men" gets a nicer life

Smooch (9pm, Hallmark) - In this cute new family movie, an imaginative youngster (Kiernan Shipka, who plays Sally on "Mad Men") comes across an amnesiac prince (Simon Kassianides), who she believes is a fairy-tale figure. Convinced the man would be perfect for her widowed mom (Kellie Martin), she launches a plan to set the two up, starting by tricking her mom into hiring him as the new nanny. Loosely based on Brothers Grimm story "The Frog King."

Husk (9pm, Syfy) - A weekend trip goes awry for a group of friends when crows force their car off the road and into a creepy cornfield where horror awaits them. Starring Wes Chatham, Devon Graye.
