On the Recruiting Front: Fronk to walk-on at NCSU

Former Apex football player Rob Fronk will be a preferred walk-on at N.C. State next season.

Fronk, a WR/TE in high school who should play TE primarily in college, was an integral part of a high-powered Apex offense that advanced to the third round of the football playoffs for the first time in 2008.

He competed this past year at Hargrave Military Academy, which has helped local football players like Jordan Richards (UCF/Cary High) and Sam Jones (NCSU/Fuquay-Varina High) transition to college.

Fronk was first-team all-conference his senior year at Apex and produced some highlight-reel worthy catches. He will join locals Rob Crisp, Pete Singer (seniors at Athens Drive), Fre'Shad Hunter (senior at Cary), Sam Jones (Fuquay alum) on the Wolfpack football team next year.
