Drugstores offer special mid-week deals

The holiday sales are heating up, with Rite Aid and Walgreens both releasing special mid-week sales circulars.

I saw a lot of repeat deals in the Walgreens ad but several new deals worth mentioning in the Rite Aid circular. These deals are good Wednesday through Saturday.

Sunday deals are up! (Dec. 4-10)

As the holiday season cranks up, it's no surprise that the drug store circulars are filled with candy deals, including FREE candy canes at CVS and FREE Mars novelties at Walgreens. On top of that, don't forget to stop in and pick up your 3 FREE greeting cards at CVS, FREE Sucrets and Crest at Rite Aid and FREE nail polish, battery toothbrush and packing tape at Walgreens. There are also notable deals on Luvs diapers, cold medicines and gift cards.

Sunday deals are up! (Nov. 27-Dec. 3)

Kroger has definitely got the best deal of the week with milk for just $2.97 a gallon. CVS has FREE contact lens solution, bargain-priced Doritos and lots of BOGO deals. Rite Aid has got FREE battery toothbrushes and St. Joseph aspirin, along with nice deals on candy, cold medicines, Pantene and Tide. And Walgreens has got several freebies, multiple BOGO offers and a nice deal on Pantene products.

A feast of Thanksgiving Day FREEBIES at the drugstores

Once the turkey is in the oven Thanksgiving morning, you might want to consider stealing away for a few moments to feast on the FREEBIES at the drugstores.

All three major drugstores -- CVS, Rite Aid and Walgreens -- will be open and are enticing customers with lots of deals for free items after rewards. The stores are even paying YOU to carry some of the items out of the store!

Just to give you an idea of what you can scoop up for free: a Starbucks drink, Hershey's and Mars candy, hair accessories, lots of medicines, earbuds and even batteries.

In other words, fill your kids' stockings or a soldier's care package for free.

In most cases, you're limited to one freebie each, unless I've noted otherwise. The deals are good Thanksgiving Day through Saturday evening but if you're interested, I wouldn't delay. Most stores will be hit by die-hard coupon shoppers first thing Thanksgiving morning. Call your closest stores to check when they will be opening.

One final tip: Be sure to check for an email from CVS. Mine contained a coupon for $5 off a $25 order. Also be sure to check any coupon books you may have. The Attractions books l gave to folks at my coupon class have coupons for $5 off a $20 purchase at CVS; $5 off a $25 purchase at Walgreens; and $2 off a $10 Walgreens purchase.

Here's a store-by-store breakdown of the best freebies I have spotted, along with coupon matchups wherever possible.

By the way, I have not yet seen the ads myself. I'm relying on circulars released by the stores online and ad scans leaked by deals sites.

Sunday deals are up!

This week's deals are once again focused on the holidays. Kroger and Target have sales on turkeys and all the fixings for Thanksgiving while the drugstores are skipping ahead to Christmas and Hanukkah with sales on candy and toys. My favorite freebie of the week: 3 FREE greeting cards at CVS. Lowest turkey price: 49 cents per pound with an additional $25 purchase at Kroger. And if the regular deals aren't enough, you have a bonus opportunity to save this week with Double Coupons at Kmart.

Sunday deals are up! (Nov. 13-19)

This Sunday's circulars are luring shoppers with holiday deals, including sales on everything from turkeys and stuffing to foil and scotch tape. Read on for the store-by-store breakdown of the best sales, taking special note of the $2.99 milk at Walgreens and the 49-cent-a-pound turkey at Kroger with a $25 additional purchase.

Deal Alert: 25 FREE photo prints at Rite Aid

With the holidays approaching, the FREE photo offers are starting to roll in. Here's the latest:

Right now, you can print 25 photos at RiteAid.com online photo studio, using the code FREEPRINTS.

Shipping is free when you pick up your pictures at a Rite Aid store.

It looks like this freebie is in celebration of Rite Aid's revamped online photo service,  "My Photos May Way."

There's no expiration date given for the offer, but if I were you I'd do it sooner rather than later because these types of deals go quickly.

Sunday deals are up! (Nov. 6-12)

Each of the drugstores has at least one FREE item this week and since FREE is my favorite price I'll be store hopping to pick up a few of my favorites, including three FREE greetings cards at CVS, which is the second week in a row for this deal.

I'm also excited about the prospect of 25-cent Smucker's jam at CVS and cheap Folgers coffee and Triaminic medicines at Walgreens. You might also want to pick up $1 Jif at CVS and $1.50 Arm & Hammer laundry detergent at Rite Aid.

And finally, if you didn't get to Kroger last week, you have a second shot at getting some of the Mega Event deals, including 29-cent Del Monte vegetables. There's also a great buy on olive oil and nice prices on apples, pears, potatoes and Clementines.

Sunday deals are up! (Oct. 30-Nov. 5)

It's a great week for shopping at the drugstores and Kroger with several FREE items at the pharmacies and an impressive Mega Event sale at Kroger. Among the freebies: greeting cards, toothpaste, cough drops, UP2U gum and Bufferin. At Kroger, pick up lots of holiday ingredients at stock-up prices, including  Cool Whip, sugar and butter. Sunday Deals are up! (Oct. 23-29)

There are some nice deals at the drugstores and Kroger this week. But my favorite deal, by far, is the milk for $2.79 per gallon at Kroger. I grabbed one on Sunday and I'll likely go back to get another on Saturday so we can have two weeks of bargain-priced milk.

At the drugstores, you can score free candy corn and a Halloween carving tool at CVS. But hurry. That deal is only good through Thursday. CVS also has a great deal on Progresso soup and CVS-brand diapers. At Rite Aid, there are nice deals on laundry detergent and 7UP. And at Walgreens, be sure to score some inexpensive Carmex lip balm and DenTek flossers.
