Wake County school board committee to discuss Responsiveness to Instruction

The Wake County school board's student achievement committee will get an update today on how the district works with at-risk students.

During today's committee meeting, staff will give an update on the Responsiveness to Instruction (RtI) framework. RtI is how Wake integrates assessment and intervention "to maximize student achievement and reduce behavioral problems for all students."

"With RtI, schools identify students at risk for poor learning outcomes, monitor student progress, provide evidence-based interventions and adjust the intensity and nature of those interventions depending on a student's responsiveness," according to a description of the program.
