Greenville's Herring shares doubles title at Easter Bowl tennis championships

Lauren Herring didn't win the singles title, but she does go home with a championship from the Easter Bowl.

The Greenville tennis player and her playing partner took the girls 18s
doubles championship during theĀ  43rd annual Eastern Bowl Junior Spring
National Championships which wrapped up a one-week run this past
weekend at Rancho Las Palmas Resort in Rancho Mirage, Calif.

The top-seeded duo of Herring and Grace Min of Lawrenceville, Ga.,
defeated sixth-seeded Courtney Dolehide of Hinsdale, Ill., and Ellen
Tsay of Pleasanton, Calif., 6-4, 6-4 on Saturday's ITF girls 18s
championship match.

N.C. player advances to Easter Bowl girls 18s showdown

Revenge could be a theme when Greenville's Lauren Herring plays her
match today at the 43rd annual Easter Bowl Spring National
Championships tennis tournament.

Playing in the girls 18s ITF
quarterfinals, Herring could be seeking a bit of revenge against an
opponent, Lauren Davis, who, in turn, might be seeking a bit of revenge
against Herring in the match at the Rancho Las Palmas Resort in Rancho
Mirage, Calif.
