TV Week is reporting that among the contenders to replace "The Guiding Light" is yet another version of the classic game show "The $25,000 Pyramid."
This one would be produced by Sony and Michael Davies, the man behind "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" and might be an hour long.
Sony and CBS wouldn't comment so the source for the story is "two people familiar with the situation." (That was the source for the first Guiding-Light-is-history rumor and you see how that went.)
While "Pyramid" is a contender to replace "Light," it's not CBS' only option. The network is said to be considering contenders produced in-house, including talk shows.
I liked the old Dick Clark Pyramid and Donny Osmond wasn't bad as host either. It would be interested to see if they can update the game without destroying it.
