Local chemical-free beauty brand keeps growing

Local cosmetics maven Blaire Kessler has some good news about her Pristine Beauty brand.

This month, the line, already available in local Whole Foods Stores and Luxe Apothecary in North Hills, was picked up by Whole Foods' Southwest region.

That's 22 new stores!

Kessler, who lives in Raleigh, began making chemical-free beauty products after her breast cancer diagnosis in 2005.

The line features cheeky, Hollywood glamour-inspired packaging.

Local beauty product maker to be featured on "Good Morning America"

Blaire Kessler's hard work creating and marketing her Pristine Beauty line of all-natural skin and hair care products will soon pay off in a big way. She's going to be on Good Morning America Oct. 25.

Kessler, a former Miss Winston Cup who battled breast cancer before creating the line, spent all of last Sunday with a TV crew from GMA in Raleigh. They filmed her all over town, first at her house, then at Whole Foods in Raleigh (which sells her line) and then at Luxe Apothecary in North Hills. Luxe was one of the first stores to take a chance on Kessler's line by selling it in the store. Owner Fiquet Bailey also was interviewed for the piece.

"I was interviewed throughout," Kessler said in an e-mail. "They even had the camera hooked to the car for Yunki (de Nies, an ABC News correspondent) and me."

The show starts at 8 a.m. on WTVD.

Local beauty product picked as a favorite

Blaire Kessler's Pristine Beauty line continues to rack up kudos as well as new store outlets.

Her Take A Whiff natural deodorant has been chosen as an Editor's Pick in the deodorant category of Natural Solutions magazine, which annually awards beauty products with its "Beauty with a Conscience" awards.

Here's what the editor had to say about Kessler's aluminum-free deodorant (which I might add, smells like a creamsicle!):

"We applaud you for creating a fabulous product that’s not only free of unnecessary chemicals and harmful toxins - it also stood out as a top performer against the many other clean deodorants we tested! Take pride in the strides you’ve made to promote safe, natural personal care - and let us spread the word of your achievements."

The product will be recognized in the magazine's October issue to coincide with breast cancer awareness month.

Also, look for Take A Whiff and the rest of the chemical-free products in the Pristine Beauty line at the Whole Foods in Raleigh. It's the latest Whole Foods in the area to carry Pristine Beauty. The line is also available at stores such as Luxe Apothecary in North Hills and Nicole's Swimwear in Knightdale.
