Target to price match online competitors, including Amazon

Taking aim at Amazon, Target has announced it will price match the online giant, as well as other online competitors, throughout the year.

The new online price-match guarantee, which Target temporarily offered during the holiday season, went into effect Tuesday, immediately after it was announced by Target corporate officials.

Shoppers will have seven days to find a lower price at Amazon, BestBuy.com, ToysRUs.com, BabiesRUs.com and Walmart.com. The guarantee also extends to Target.com.

Half-price Frappuccinos at Starbucks

Just in time for hot weather, Starbucks is bringing back its "Frappuccino Happy Hour."

Starting Friday, May 4, through May 13, you can purchase one of the blended iced beverages for half price.

Happy hour lasts from 3 to 5 p.m. at particpating Starbucks.

And just so you know, Starbucks has added a new Frapppuccino -- the Mocha Cookie Crumble -- a blend of mocha sauce, frappuccino chips, coffee, milk and ice and topped with whipped cream and chocolate cookie crumbles.

Deal Alert: Milk for $2.79 a gallon this week

Need milk?

Starting today and continuing through Saturday, Feb. 4, milk is $2.79 a gallon at Walgreens.

These days, any time you can find milk for under $3 a gallon, you've scored a good deal so $2.79 is a pretty terrific price and the lowest price in Triangle stores right now...at least that I know of.

If anyone out there knows of a better price, please share!!

There's no coupon required at Walgreens, but you are limited to two gallons.

If your Walgreens happens to be out of milk -- and it's bound to happen at this price -- be sure to get a rain check.

Top prospects clash at the DBAP

The Durham Bulls open their season tonight, which is always a special occasion. But a real treat will come on Friday night when left-hander David Price of the Bulls squares off against Norfolk catcher Matt Wieters.

Wieters is ranked the No. 1 overall prospect in baseball by Baseball America and Price is No. 2. It doesn't get better than that.

Balls and Strikes will take a look at the teams coming to the Triangle before each Bulls and Carolina Mudcats homestand this season. The Mudcats open on the road tonight at Mississippi.

Here is a look at who's coming to Durham.
