What to Watch on Friday: Blake Shelton plays Reba's brother on 'Malibu Country'

Nikita (8pm, CW) - Nikita learns about a planned terrorist attack from Ari, but he wants $50 million for the information he possesses that could stop the threat and lead to the capture of the person behind it.

Malibu Country (8:30pm, ABC) - Reba's ne'er-do-well brother Blake (played by Blake Shelton) pays a surprise visit and cooks up a get-rich-quick scheme to market Lillie Mae's homemade BBQ sauce. Meanwhile, June accidentally lets it be known at school that Cash is still a virgin, and when their Uncle Blake offers him some iffy romantic advice, his nephew is quick to take it to heart.

Touch (9pm, Fox) - Jake and Amelia are suddenly on their own and heading to a predetermined meeting place, but Martin and Lucy's search for the kids also reveals crucial information about Calvin's brother.

Gymnastics: N.C. State at BYU (9pm, BYUTV) - I know this is incredibly random, but I just happened across this and how often is a local gymnastic meet televised? (Maybe a lot, I don't know.) If you have Time Warner Cable, this is on channel 287.

Portlandia (10pm, IFC) - In the Season 3 finale, the entire city of Portland is blacked out after the mayor's office fails to pay the electric bill.

Out There (10:30pm, IFC) - Chris' startled exclamation after being accosted by a school bully gets him slapped with an effeminate nickname, so Chad plots to get him a new moniker.

What to Watch on Friday: 'Big Easy Express' doc will rock you like a wagon wheel

Touch (8pm, Fox) - In the two-hour Season 2 premiere, Martin (Keifer Sutherland) and Jake join Lucy's search for her daughter, Amelia, in California. Meanwhile, Aster Corporation's Calvin Norburg hopes to make a significant discovery, and religious zealot Guillermo Ortiz concentrates on his vision.

Big Easy Express (8pm, Showtime) - This documentary is described as a musical journey of three bands, six cities, one train and thousands of miles of track. Filmmaker Emmett Malloy features indie folk heroes Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes, Tennessee's Old Crow Medicine Show and Mumford & Sons aboard a beautiful vintage train traveling from California with the ultimate destination of New Orleans. Another music documentary, "Mumford & Sons: The Road to Red Rocks" will air again immediately following this.

The Job (8pm, CBS) - In this new reality series, candidates vie for jobs with prominent companies. Tonight, people from Brooklyn, Hawaii, Idaho and Alabama all want an assistant manager gig at Palm Restaurant Group.

Shark Tank (9pm, ABC) - This is a far better reality series choice for the night. In front of the sharks, the creator of a toilet-training system for cats shares a new business idea and two Austin men offer to give up 100 percent of their hand-cooler business.

Banshee (10pm, Cinemax) - When rampaging bikers crash a town festival with fatal consequences, Lucas and Siobhan dole out some vigilante justice.

Portlandia (10pm, IFC) - Peter and Nance prep for the opening of their bed-and-breakfast by hosting their friends, and a local furniture maker is featured in the "Man Issue" of a magazine.

What to Watch on Friday: Networks plan special primetime coverage from Aurora

Aurora Shooting Coverage: In addition to special coverage on tonight's 6:30 newscasts, the major networks are planning additional coverage of the last night's mass shooting in Aurora, Colorado. Here's what I've seen so far: CBS anchor Scott Pelley will lead a special edition of "48 Hours" at 8. For NBC, Ann Curry will report live from Aurora on "Dateline," airing at 9. ABC will have a special edition of "20/20" anchored by Chris Cuomo from Aurora and Diane Sawyer from New York, tonight at 10. There's a special edition of "Nightline" on ABC at 11:35. On CNN, Anderson Cooper will broadcast "AC360" from Aurora at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m.  On Fox, "On the Record with Greta Van Susteren" will cover the shooting at 10, with Van Susteren reporting from Aurora. Chris Jansing will have special reports from Colorado at 4 and 10 on MSNBC.

Whale Wars (9pm, Animal Planet) - In the Season 5 finale, the Sea Shepherd's months-long search for the Nisshin Maru finally pays off, but the factory ship is well protected and won't give up without a fight.

Common Law (10pm, USA) - Wes and Travis share quarters during a stakeout to monitor the moves of a crime novelist, who may have helped a criminal escape prison.

Louisiana Lockdown (10pm, Animal Planet) - In the Season 1 finale, a rookie rider takes on a former champion as the rodeo season nears its conclusion. Also, an inmate learns he's getting out after 18 years in prison.

Lost Girl (10pm, Syfy) - Bo accepts the Ash's proposal and acquires an unlikely partner.

Comedy Bang! Bang (10pm, IFC) - Guest Ed Helms plays the banjo and makes animal noises.

Portlandia: The Brunch Special (11pm, IFC) - A director's cut of the Season 2 finale, with a "making of" segment, and appearances by Bobby Flay, Lorne Michaels and Kyle MacLachlan.

What to Watch on Friday: 'Portlandia' marathon and season finale

ACC Tournament: Quarterfinal Round (WRAL) - Games resume today at noon and continue through tonight. UNC plays first, Virginia plays at 2, and Duke plays at 7. Florida State gets the 9 o'clock game. Regular CBS afternoon and evening programming will either air at the regularly scheduled times on WRAL2 or on WRAL overnight. Go here to try to figure all that out. The Friday night shows you'll want to plan for are "Undercover Boss," "The Mentalist" and "Blue Bloods."

Portlandia (6:30pm, IFC) - A marathon of all episodes from Season 2 leads up to tonight's season finale at 10. In the finale, Peter and Nance wait in an endless line at a new brunch hot spot. Stars Carrie Brownstein and Fred Armisen (right) and tonight's finale guest stars Ed Begley Jr., Tim Robbins and Kyle McLachlan.

Who Do You Think You Are (8pm, NBC) - Retired NFL player Jerome Bettis investigates his family roots. He travels to Kentucky and tracks the triumph and tragedy of his great-great-grandfather's life.

Shark Tank (8pm, ABC) - Pitches include body jewelry and a "Rent-a-Grandma" business.

Grimm (9pm, NBC) - An arson-related homicide investigation brings Nick and Hank to the world of Portland fire dancing, and the case threatens Nick's relationship with Juliette.

What to Watch on Friday: Reba McEntire's family tree search leads to Raleigh

Who Do You Think You Are (8pm, NBC) - With little knowledge about her mother's family, country singer Reba McEntire does research to see which of her ancestors was the first to set foot in America. Her search brings her to Raleigh, where she discovers an ancestor who was a prominent member in the community. According to NBC, Reba's discovery in Raleigh is connected to "one of the darkest periods in American history." As Reba continues her search, she learns of her ancestor's heartbreaking journey to America.

Shark Tank (8pm, ABC) - A guy with a clothing item he describes as "revolutionary" calls Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak for advice. Also, a follow-up on a South Carolina woman's homemade Daisy Cakes (from Season 2).

The Break (8pm, MTV) - Three young people who are homeless are followed as they work to rebuild their lives with help from homeless advocate Anne Mahlum, founder and CEO of the Back on My Feet nonprofit organization.

A Gifted Man (9pm, CBS) - In the Season 1 finale, Michael discovers a patient at the clinic has a special link to Anna. Meanwhile, Michael gets reacquainted with an old friend who has been diagnosed with a rare illness.

Portlandia (10pm, IFC) - Carrie and Fred try to get the mayor to ban the Olympics.

Blue Bloods (10pm, CBS) - A high-profile reporter and close friend of Frank (but not the former girlfriend from Season 1) is assaulted while she's out with him, and Danny and Jackie search for the would-be attacker. Meanwhile, Jamie's undercover case reaches a critical stage.

What to Watch on Friday: 'Chuck' series finale and Animal Planet in NC

Chuck (8pm, NBC) - Two new episodes tonight close out a great show that a lot of people (but not enough!) will miss. First, Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski, left) keeps a secret from Chuck (Zachary Levi, left) in order to successfully pull off a perilous mission, and Ellie and Awesome are presented with a new and potentially life-changing opportunity. Then Chuck embarks on his final mission in the series finale at 9. He must revisit his past in order to save his future, and teams up with friends, family, and unlikely allies to vanquish the sinister villain Nicholas Quinn. 

Shark Tank (8pm, ABC) - Ideas a cat-portrait business (yes!) and there's a follow-up on a potty-training product for cats (no!) from Season 2.

Fringe (9pm, Fox) - Olivia is preoccupied by a warning from the Observers, while Peter helps with the search for a girl with mysterious powers to see the future.

On Freddie Roach (9:30pm, HBO) - The second episode in this documentary series following boxing trainer Freddie Roach focuses on a routine day at Roach's Wild Crd Gym as it's suddenly thrown into chaos.

Confessions: Animal Hoarding (10pm, Animal Planet) - Tonight's episode features a dog hoarder from Garland, North Carolina, who gets help from the Wake County SPCA. The Vietnam veteran and former minister had 35 dogs chained up around his home, living in some pretty horrible conditions.  Read more about the episode and the Wake SPCA's involvement. Also in this episode, a woman (not from North Carolina) who has more than 100 cats, which have made her current home uninhabitable. Another North Carolina episode airs on February 10.

Portlandia (10pm, IFC) - Michelle and Brendan pull out all the stops to see that their son gains admittance to a prestigious preschool.

What to Watch on Friday: 'Shark Tank' returns, new series from HBO

Shark Tank (8pm, ABC) - Mark Cuban, owner of the 2011 NBA champions Dallas Mavericks, returns as a judge for Season 3 of this highly addictive show in which inventors and entrepreneurs pitch ideas to wealthy business people. Cuban, left, did some guest judge spots last season and he's pretty cutthroat. One of the pitches tonight comes from NBA Hall of Famer Bill Walton and triathlete Dave Meyer, who have designed a new type of water bottle. There's also an update on the customized speakers venture from Season 2.

Chuck (8pm, NBC) - A mission in Japan gets derailed when Chuck and Sarah face off against menacing evildoer Nicholas Quinn on a speeding bullet train. Elsewhere, Casey must make a monumental decision. Only one more episode left -- next week's two-hour show will be the series finale.

Grimm (9pm, NBC) - A gruesome homicide may be linked to a man's troubling childhood. Meanwhile, Monroe receives a disturbing message from the creature community.

Fringe (9pm, Fox) - The alternate Fringe division confronts a powerful new adversary during Peter's visit to the other side.

JB Smoove Stand-Up Playlist (9pm, Comedy Central) -  Smoove features performances from his favorite comedians.

On Freddie Roach (9:30pm, HBO) - The first episode in a six-part series looking at the life of Hall of Fame boxing trainer Freddie Roach. The series is described as part documentary and part reality show. Roach, right, lives with Parkinson's, an ailment that is likely linked to his life as a boxer.

Portlandia (10pm, IFC) - Irys and Spyke plan an unconventional wedding, and Candace and Toni hold an in-store book signing.

The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret (10:30pm, IFC) - Under the influence of morphine, a hospitalized Todd mistakes a teddy bear for Alice's ex-boyfriend, whom he thinks might be trying to reconcile with her.

What to Watch on Friday: More 'Fringe' flashbacks

Smallville (8pm, CW) - Everyone loses their memory after drinking spiked champagne, courtesy of Zatanna, at Clark and Lois's bachelor and bachelorette parties.

Who Do You Think You Are (8pm, NBC) - Kim Cattrall digs into her family roots, centering her investigation on the mysteries surrounding her grandfather. She uncovers an uncomfortable truth and forges new connections with the women in her family.

Fringe (9pm, Fox) - There's a lot of buzz about this episode, which will be heavy on flashbacks. Apparently, Walter (right) recounts the crucial period of time in the 1980s following his initial visit to the alternate universe and the ongoing Cortexiphan tests he was conducting on young children. "Fringe" fans should not miss it.

Your OWN Star (9pm, OWN) - Oprah's search for the next TV star comes to an end tonight. The two finalists must create pilots for their own shows, with Mark Burnett as their mentor, and Oprah crowns a winner.

DC Cupcakes (10pm, TLC) - In the Season 2 premiere, a 9-foot cupcake sculpture of a glow-in-the-dark guitar is constructed for a sweet 16 party. A second episode airs at 10:30.

Bar Karma (10pm, Current TV) - Sonja Sohn (Kima from "The Wire") guest-stars as “Lucy,” a famous actress who is summoned to Bar Karma in the middle of a surgical procedure. Will she make it out of the operating room alive? The star of "Bar Karma" is from Chapel Hill.

Portlandia (10:30pm, IFC) - The first season finale of the hilariously bizarre send-up of a couple of pretentious hipsters in Portland features Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein holding tryouts for a new Portland baseball team. Here's a sneak peek.

What to Watch on Friday: Just who does Vanessa Williams think she is?

Portlandia (8pm, IFC) - If you have the Indepedent Film Channel, you can spend the entire night cracking up at episodes of "Portlandia" (defies a brief description, but it's really funny) and "Onion News Network."

Who Do You Think You Are? (8pm, NBC) - Season 2 of this genealogical research show kicks off with actress Vanessa Williams tracing her ancestry. Her investigation directs her to South Carolina, where she uncovers a familial connection to the Civil War's Union Army.

Super Bowl's Greatest Commercials (9pm, CBS) - Jim Nantz and Lara Spencer host a look at the 10 best commercials to air during the past 44 Super Bowls, with viewers choosing the top spot. Also, a preview of 2011 commercials.

Fringe (9pm, Fox) - A scientist's ingestin of a blue powder causes his bones to disintegrate, leading government officials to suspect a biological attack, but the Fringe team's investigation may hinge on assistance from a former test subject of Walter's.

Barbara Walters: A Matter of Life and Death (10pm, ABC) - Just in time for tax season, Barbara Walters figures out a way to write off last year's heart surgery. Walters shows clips of famous people (David Letterman, President Bill Clinton, Regis Philbin) talking about their heart surgeries, and of course, talks about her own. Walters had aortic-valve replacement in May 2010. She also has a physician discuss how women's symptoms can differ from men's.

Real Time with Bill Maher (10pm, HBO) - Guests include Egyptian-born journalist Mona Eltahway, PBS host and museum director Neil deGrasse Tyson, director Charles Ferguson, columnist John Fund, and NY congressman Anthony Weiner.
