I don't get to see nearly enough theater or attend nearly enough concerts despite our abundance of theater companies and the lovely venues we have for traveling shows and live music.

I got a reminder of what I've been missing by watching "Passing Strange," which airs tonight at 9 on UNC-TV. And man, do I feel deprived.

"Passing Strange" is funny and moving, and despite being a filmed performance, electrifying.
