What to Watch on Tuesday: A wedding (finally) on 'Parenthood'

NCIS (8pm, CBS) - A chief petty officer is murdered and the investigation reveals that his death is linked to an international arms dealer, which jeopardizes top-secret clearance at a Naval laboratory.

Switched at Birth (8pm, ABC Family) - Daphne is unsure about her romance with Wilke. Meanwhile, Emmett isn't happy to learn that Bay is still in contact with Ty.

Parenthood (10pm, NBC) - In the finale of what has been a pretty strong third season, the family gathers for the wedding of Crosby and Jasmine (I'm just so glad all the bickering between those two is over!). Meanwhile, Julia and Joel try to recover from the stress of the adoption process, Crosby and Adam come to an agreement about whether or not to sell the Luncheonette and Sarah makes a big decision about her future.

Southland (10pm, TNT) - Tang is served legal papers in the morning and is involved in a shooting in the evening, and Lydia comes to a decision about how to deal with her pregnancy.

Justified (10pm, FX) - Raylan's tactics put him at odds with the FBI as he intensifies his efforts to take down Quarles and the Detroit mob.

The Amish (2am, UNC-TV) -  Filmed over the course of a year, this American Experience documentary seeks to answer questions about the insular religious community of the Amish. Filmmakers received unprecedented access to the Amish community and it's said to be the first film to deeply penetrate the profoundly private group. It also includes the first television interview with one of the parents of a schoolgirl murdered by Charles Roberts in 2006. As for why this is airing at 2 am while concert repeats air earlier, all I can say is ... Festival.

What to Watch on Tuesday: Baby drama on 'Parenthood'

Carolina at State (8pm, WRAL) - UNC plays at NC State, which means your regularly scheduled CBS shows will play in the wee hours on WRAL.

Cougar Town (8:30pm, ABC) - Jules can't decide on a maid of honor so she asks Ellie and Laurie to share the title.

Clinton (9pm, UNC-TV) - The second and final installment of the PBS documentary on Bill Clinton.

Parenthood (10pm, NBC) - Lots happening tonight! I hope I don't cry four times while watching it the way I did with last week's episode. Here's what to expect: Julia and Joel prepare for the birth of their/Zoe's son -- but will they get to keep him? Also, Sarah considers moving to New York with Mark, someone makes an offer on the Luncheonette, and Jasmine (Joy Bryant, right) declares her love for Crosby (Dax Shepard, right) while on a camping trip with Jabbar.

Justified (10pm, FX) - As Boyd fights for control of the Harlan oxy trade, Raylan works to keep the battle from becoming an all-out war.

White Collar (10pm, USA) - A wealthy baseball fan plans to steal a valuable piece of memorabilia from Yankee Stadium and recruits Neal to assist.

Southland (10pm, TNT) - A young man set to testify in one of Sammy's cases is killed and Lydia's body is tested when she works as a shift supervisor.

What to Watch on Tuesday: 'Cougar Town' returns

Glee (8pm, Fox) - The kids find and perform the world's greatest love songs. Meanwhile, Jeff Goldblum and Brian Stokes Mitchell, who play Rachel's two dads, visit McKinley High.

Cougar Town (8:30pm, ABC) - Grab a big ole glass of wine and settle in for the third season of "Cougar Town." In tonight's premiere, Grayson irks Jules by labeling her predictable. Also, Travis settles into his new off-campus housing, but he's not sure he wants his dad's dog as a roommate.

The River (9pm, ABC) - A.J. must confront his demons to find a cure when the rest of the Magnus crew are temporarily blinded by spores from a tree. Meanwhile, the Morcego tribe follows the interlopers to decide if they are worthy to remain in the jungle or if they should die.

The Loving Story (9pm, HBO) - A profile of Richard and Mildred Loving, a married, interracial couple who challenged anti-miscegenation laws in Virginia after being arrested in 1958, and fought a legal battle that resulted in a landmark 1967 case before the U.S. Supreme Court, Loving v. Virginia. Directed by Nancy Buirski, founder of Durham's Full Frame Documentary Film Festival, who co-wrote the script with former NCCU professor Susie Powell. Adrienne reviews.

Frontline: The Interrupters (9pm, UNC-TV) - A two-hour profile of three Chicago activists with CeaseFire working to end gang violence. Directed by Steve James ("Hoop Dreams").  A great, great film, Adrienne says.

New Girl (9pm, Fox) - Schmidt agrees to be Jess' wingman when she sets out to have a one-night stand on Valentine's Day.

Southland (10pm, TNT) - A case turns personal for John when he tries to save a suicidal teen and Sammy's attempt to transform a former drug addict into an informant comes back to haunt him. Also, a person from Tang's past arrives.

Parenthood (10pm, NBC) - Drew learns that Sarah and Mark plan to have a baby, and Julia tries to put distance between herself and Zoe.

Justified (10pm, FX) - Raylan is in hot pursuit of Dewey Crowe, who's staging a one-man crime spree after an encounter with an organ-harvesting ring. Meanwhile, Boyd squares off against a new foe.

What to Watch on Tuesday: A creepy 'River' and an 'Unforgettable' Jane Curtin

NCIS (8pm, CBS) - In the show's 200th episode, Gibbs (Mark Harmon) questions choices he's made when he stares down the barrel of a gun at a local diner.

The River (9pm, ABC) - In this two-hour series premiere, a TV explorer goes missing in the Amazon and his wife, who believes he's still alive, sets out with her son (Joe Anderson, right) and a documentary film crew to find him. It has a creepy "Paranormal Activity" vibe. Read my full review of "The River" premiere.

New Girl (9pm, Fox) - Jess goes against Nick's wishes when she makes it her mission to befriend the loft's landlord, who is notoriously cranky. But in doing so, Jess inadvertently jeopardizes their living situation.

Raising Hope (9:30pm, Fox) - Burt, stressed out during tax season, blurts out a hurtful insult about Virginia's career, so she starts a new business as a tarot-card reader.

Unforgettable (10pm, CBS) - A serial killer with knowledge of Carrie's memory skills taunts her and the police department as his list of victims grows. Emmy Award-winning actress Jane Curtin ("Saturday Night Live," "3rd Rock from the Sun") joins the cast tonight as a high-level inspector in the NYPD who until recently was running the Medical Examiner's office in Manhattan.

Parenthood (10pm, NBC) - Mark and Sarah consider having a baby, and Amber lands a promotion she worries she's not qualified for (do not trust that politician, Amber!!!).

Southland (10pm, TNT) - Sammy cares for a dog after accidentally shooting it and Lydia and Ruben investigate the murder of a good Samaritan. Also, Ben and Lydia both brave monumental life changes.

Justified (10pm, FX) - A daring prison escape puts Raylan on the trail of two old foes, while Boyd confronts a traitor in his inner circle.

There's even more good stuff than normal happening at 10 p.m. now, so don't forget the DVR time-shifting strategies we discussed before.

What to Watch on Tuesday: 'Justified' and 'Southland' return strong

Custer's Last Stand (8pm, UNC-TV) - A two-hour profile of Gen. George Armstrong Custer, nicknamed "the boy general" for his Civil War exploits, who died with many other members of the 7th Calvary while battling the Cheyenne and Lakota along the Little Bighorn River in Montana Territory. The documentary details his time at West Point, where he became famous for his rebellious nature; his relationship with his wife Libbie; his year-long suspension from the service; and the campaign against the Cheyenne that led to his death.

Raising Hope (9:30pm, Fox) - When Hope shows early signs of above-average intelligence, Jimmy is inspired to return to school to get his GED. Virginia and Burt follow in Jimmy's footsteps to keep their son from being the smartest member of the family. This explains so much.

Justified (10pm, FX) - In the Season 3 premiere, the arrival of a Detroit mobster (Neal McDonough) in Lexington puts Raylan on a collision course with a sadistic Mafia hit man. Raylan (Timothy Olyphant) also has another altercation with Boyd (Walton Goggins), which lands Boyd in an interesting predicament.

***NOTE: The return of "Southland" and "Justified," along with other ongoing 10 p.m. series such as "Parenthood," "Body of Proof," and "White Collar," means one thing: TUESDAY NIGHT TIME SHIFT! Remember that "Southland" airs again at midnight and "Justified" airs at 11 p.m. and 1 a.m. "White Collar" also airs again on USA at 1 a.m. "Parenthood" is usually available On Demand.

What to Watch on Tuesday: Behind the myth of 'Billy the Kid'

Billy the Kid: American Experience (9pm, UNC-TV) - This one-hour documentary looks at the boy behind the myth of "Billy the Kid," who was born in New York City's slums to impoverished, Irish immigrant parents and became one of the most legendary outlaws in American history. Billy the Kid, aka Henry McCarty, was killed in 1881 by Lincoln County (New Mexico) sheriff Pat Garrett after escaping custody while awaiting his execution for the murder of the previous Lincoln County sheriff. The interesting profile includes remarks from Western historians and writers like Michael Wallis and Drew Gomber, and from former New Mexico governor Bill Richardson.

Body of Proof (10pm, ABC) - A murder investigation strikes close to home when an undercover policeman is killed execution-style at a truck stop.

What to Watch on Tuesday: New 'Work It' sitcom is the night's biggest loser

The Biggest Loser (8pm, NBC) - This show runs pretty much non-stop throughout the year now. The previous season just ended a few weeks ago and now we have a fresh new batch of couples at the ranch. The twist this season is that the couples will be split up and compete against each other.

Work It (8:30pm, ABC) - Heaven help us. This awful new sitcom is about two men who dress as women to get jobs. Yes, like "Bosom Buddies." Except without Tom Hanks.

Jamie's American Road Trip (10pm, BBC America) - Chef Jamie Oliver visits East Los Angeles and tries to make kids eat healthy food. No, wait! That was a different show. In this series, Jamie travels around America and talks to folks with different food traditions. Tonight he meets Mexican-Americans with a strong food culture and learns about Homeboy Industries, a youth program that uses food to break the cycle of crime (and probably also tries to get them to eat healthy food).

Body of Proof (10pm, ABC) - A classroom discovers the body of a murdered young woman in place of a medical-school cadaver, and Megan enlists a prize student to help solve the case.

Victoria Secret Fashion Show (10pm, CBS) - Kanye West, Nicki Minaj and Maroon 5 perform as scantily clad supermodels prance down the runway.

What to Watch on Tuesday: Robert Wagner arrested for murder

NCIS (8pm, CBS) - Boo! Fooled ya! Robert Wagner is arrested for murder but it's while he's playing Tony's dad on "NCIS." Wagner's character is suspected of murder when he's found in a car with a dead body and has no recollection of his actions. Tony is taken off the case, forcing him to disobey orders to prove his dad's innocence. Coincidentally, Wagner was just in the CBS lineup this past Saturday night, co-starring in an episode of "48 Hours Mystery: Vanity Fair Hollywood Scandal." On that show, a boat captain alleged that Wagner had a hand in the drowning death of his wife Natalie Wood in 1981. Awkward. (Note: That "48 Hours" episode was originally supposed to air this coming Saturday, November 26, but CBS rushed it to air a week early -- and so quickly that I didn't even know it was on. Here is the episode online.).

Dancing with the Stars (8pm, ABC) - The final three couples perform their favorite dance, and then the final two dance an instant samba before a winner is announced in the 13th season finale. Eliminated couples from the season return and Lady Antebellum perform.

Frontline (9pm, UNC-TV) - A report on the role that American citizen David Coleman Headley played in the 2008 terrorist assault on Mumbai, India, which left 166 people dead and more than 300 wounded.

Parenthood (10pm, NBC) - Adam's marriage suffers after he confesses to an inappropriate interaction with the hot new receptionist at work (he totally led her on!). Also, Julia and Joel meet Zoe's boyfriend.

Sons of Anarchy (10pm, FX) - SAMCRO must negotiate with the Irish Kings to secure the club's future. Things are getting intense. After tonight, only two more episodes left this season.

Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel (10pm, HBO) - Tonight, a report on a tennis Hall of Famer accused of molesting girls he coached, and a profile of Butler basketball coach Brad Stevens.

What to Watch on Tuesday: Robin Roberts interviews Scotty McCreery

She also talks to Kenny Chesney, Faith Hill, and Keith Urban, in addition to Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush of Sugarland, who are interviewed at the site of August's Indiana stage-collapse tragedy.

Parenthood (10pm, NBC) - Seth stays with Amber after his release from rehab, but the arrangement soon wears on her. (If someone had told me in previous seasons that Amber would one day be my favorite character on this show, I'd have questioned their sanity). Also, Crosby worries about Jabbar having a new father figure when Jasmine gets serious with her boyfriend. (If someone had told me last season that I'd still be hating Jasmine this season, I'd have totally believed them).

Sons of Anarchy (10pm, FX) - Jax and Tara taste life after SAMCRO but discover just how hard it is to really escape it.

Covert Affairs (10pm, USA) - Annie tries to turn a money launderer's wife (Nina Kronjager) into a CIA asset while hunting down her husband. But the woman catches Annie following her and demands to meet with Arthur, whom she met when she was a Stasi agent.
