Although several Triangle schools are ranked this week, the highest-ranked team is Durham's Jordan High, which is No. 2 in the 4-A rankings.

Cary's Ben Creed and Chris Johnson of Orange were named academic all-American wrestlers by the national high school coaches association.

The 3-A dual-team wrestling championship between Orange and Concord Robinson has been postponed.

Orange coach Bobby Shriner had hoped to have the finals today, but postponed the finals.

The 1-A, 2-A and 4-A dual-team championship, which were originally scheduled for today, have been rescheduled for Sunday.

Pat Moser, who built a 71-24 record and won a state championship in seven seasons as head coach at Graham High,  is the new football coach at Orange High.
He had taught at Graham, but not coached for the past four years.

He succeeds Dickie Schock, who is the new Rocky Mount head coach.

Orange beats Newton-Conover in the finals for the second straight year.

If it’s fall, it must be time for … baseball. (C’mon, the World Series is an annual October Classic.)
With that in mind, the defending state champions at Orange High School will host the 13th annual Orange Hitting Camp for ages 12-18 on Nov. 8 at OHS.
Campers must register in advance, and the cost is $45 if registered by Nov. 4, ($55 after that.) The price includes lunch and a T-shirt. Instructors will be professional and college coaches and players, as well as outstanding high school coaches.
