Oprah says John Edwards "really, really uncomfortable."

Today on Fridays Live with Oprah, Oprah and her guests -- Ali Wentworth (wife of George Stephanopoulos), Gayle King, and Mark Consuelos -- discussed Thursday's Elizabeth Edwards interview.

Ali jumped in right away with this sage advice: "Keep it in your pants or don't go into politics."

Recap of Elizabeth Edwards interview on Oprah

If you missed Oprah's interview with Elizabeth Edwards today, we've recapped it here for you.

Oprah arrives at the Edwards home in Chapel Hill in an SUV and is greeted outside by the entire family, minus Cate: John, Elizabeth, Emma Claire, and Jack. Big hugs all around.

Oprah notes that Elizabeth looks good, though she has terminal cancer. They go into the house and John takes the kids away. "Can we talk to you later on?" Oprah asks. "We'll see," John replies.

Oprah waves her wand over Jenny McCarthy

My, has Jenny McCarthy come up.

Remember when she was the goofy cute girl on MTV's "Singled Out?"

Now Jim Carrey's boo is a mom, author and autism anti-vaccination activist, who speaks passionately about her son's recovery from the disorder. Apparently Oprah has noticed.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the mogul has signed her to a mult-year overall deal with Harpo Productions to develop projects, including a
syndicated talk show that the actress/author would host.

The first collaboration is a blog by McCarthy on
Oprah.com, which launched on Friday. As you know, Oprah has already changed the lives of Dr. Phil and Rachael Ray, and countless others now making a whole lotta money.

Wonder if she's interested in TV bloggers...

James Taylor on Oprah Winfrey Show today

We know it's short notice, but James Taylor will appear on The Oprah Winfrey Show today.

Her show airs here at 4pm, but usually repeats on WTVD again at 1am, just after The Jimmy Kimmel Show.

Friday means "Oprah Fridays Live in Chicago," so Taylor could join Oprah, Gail, Ali Wentworth, and Mark Consuelos on their panel. He will perform for sure.

Oprah's new puppy dies

More tragedy for Oprah Winfrey on the dog front.

Almost year after losing her two beloved cocker spaniels -- Sophie and Solomon -- Oprah adopted two new cocker spaniel pups, and now one of them has died.

Ivan was introduced to the world on Oprah's show about a week ago along with his littermate Sadie, who also has the Parvo virus that killed Ivan. Sadie is getting stronger

Oprah has a special show on Fridays called "Fridays Live" which is usually a panel featuring herself, her friend Gail, Mark Consuelos, and Ali Wentworth. Ivan and Sadie were introduced on "Fridays Live," so it's possible Oprah will talk about Ivan's death on tomorrow's show.

What do James Moeser and Oprah Winfrey have in common?

Okay. Quick now. What does former UNC Chapel Hill Chancellor James Moeser have in common with Oprah Winfrey?

Give up?

They will both receive honorary degrees in May from Duke University.

According to Duke news release today, Moeser and Winfrey are among seven recipients of honorary degrees at the May commencement ceremony. Winfrey will be the featured speaker at the May 10 event.

Moeser, who while presiding over commencement ceremonies in Chapel Hill during his eight years as chancellor, occasionally made light-hearted jabs at that private school down the road, is credited with the creation of the Carolina Covenant - a financial aid program for low-income students, as well as the expansion of genome research, successful fundraising and other accomplishments, according to the Duke news release.

Oprah goes to HBO

Oprah is now one step closer to ruling the entire entertainment world!

Harpo Films, a division of Oprah Winfrey's Harpo production company, has signed a deal to develop and produce scripted series, films and documentaries with HBO.

Previously, Harpo produced movies and specials with ABC (Their Eyes Were Watching God, Tuesdays with Morrie, Oprah's Big Give), but those type projects will now be made at HBO.

Oprah to speak at Duke graduation

Talk show host Oprah Winfrey will be Duke's next commencement speaker.

You may have heard of her; she's put together a relatively successful little career on television. She'll speak Sunday, May 10 and collect an honorary doctorate of humane letters for her efforts.

No word on whether she'll give everyone in attendance a free car
