N.C. State will celebrate Earth Day 2011 on Friday, April 15th by presenting the Story of Sustainability in the Brickyard from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and an Earth Day concert at Harris Field at 5 p.m.

Barely a week into the new year, we've already got the first great local album of 2009 -- North Elementary's "Not For Everyone Just For You" -- which is kind of funny, because the Chapel Hill band  actually finished making it nearly two years ago. But it was worth waiting around for. For some explanation as to why this happened, check the interview with North Elementary main man John Harrison in Friday's paper. The band also plays a free show tonight at Carrboro's Cat's Cradle.
