What to Watch on Sunday: Season finales for 'True Blood,' 'Newsroom,' 'Episodes'

Leverage (8pm, TNT) - Nate tries to solve the air piracy mysteries of infamous 1970s hijacker D.B. Cooper, thereby helping a dying FBI agent come to terms with never apprehending the criminal.

Drop Dead Diva (9pm, Lifetime) - Jane achieves Web stardom after giving Nancy Grace a black eye while her lawyer idol looks on. Elsewhere, Stacy faces a business crisis when a customer claims he owns the patent on the Pake.

True Blood (9pm, HBO) - In the fifth season finale, Eric makes one last attempt to thwart the Authority and save Bill from losing his humanity. Meanwhile, Alcide prepares for another battle with JD, and Sam and Luna try to escape the Authority.

Hell on Wheels (9pm, AMC) - Cullen struggles to maintain order while Mickey's and Sean's lives are endangered.

Newsroom (10pm, HBO) - In the Season 1 finale, Mac is shaken by a potentially devastating revelation from gossip columnist Nina Howard, and Sloan mulls a new job opportunity. Also, Will, Mac and Charlie confront Leona and Reese during a volatile lunch meeting.

Copper (10pm, BBC America) - A figure from Corcoran's past returns to Five Points, and new questions arise about his daughter's death and his wife's disappearance.

Episodes (10:30pm, Showtime) - In the Season 2 finale, Merc threatens to leave Jamie for Carol when he discovers that his wife and Matt had an affair, and Sean is devastated when Beverly turns up at an awards dinner with a date.

What to Watch on Sunday: A nuclear meltdown (of sorts) on 'Newsroom'

True Blood (9pm, HBO) - Sookie and Jason visit the place where their parents were killed by vampires.

The Newsroom (10pm, HBO) - Sloan (Olivia Munn, right) subs for Elliot during the Japanese nuclear crisis following the March 2011 earthquake, but her harsh questioning of a Tokyo power company representative could damage her credibility. Meanwhile, Will has a bout of insomnia that leads him to therapy, where he learns a lesson about bullying.

Breaking Bad (10pm, AMC) - Walt and Jesse come up with a new business plan, and Walt shares a secret with Marie.

Political Animals (10pm, USA) - Elaine makes an announcement to her family about her political future, and President Garcetti enacts a plan that puts her in conflict with her longtime mentor.

Oprah's Lifeclass (10pm, OWN) - Season 2 starts with inspirational speaker Iyanla Vanzant.

Episodes (10:30pm, Showtime) - Matt's stalker adds Sean as a Facebook friend and is able to track down the two of them at a restaurant. Also, Sean and Beverly discover that Morning has been the victim of a botched plastic-surgery procedure.

Marathon Note: No new episode of "Longmire" tonight, but A&E is re-airing all Season 1 episodes starting at 8 p.m. It's a really solid modern-day Western/police drama starring Robert Taylor, Katee Sackhoff, and Lou Diamond Phillips

What to Watch on Sunday: Sorkin's 'Newsroom' and AFI's tribute to Shirley MacLaine

AFI Life Achievement Award 2012: Shirley MacLaine (9pm, TV Land) - Meryl Streep presents Oscar winner Shirley MacLaine with the 40th AFI Life Achievement Award, which honors her contributions to film. Guests include Barbra Streisand and MacLaine's brother, Warren Beatty.

Falling Skies (9pm, TNT) - The unit moves into an airport hanger, but the relocation could cause health problems. Elsewhere, the renegade Berserkers scheme to cast out Tom.

Drop Dead Diva (9pm, Lifetime) - The producer of a reality makeover show is sued and Parker is shocked when his son appears at the firm. Meanwhile, Teri helps Stacy open her new business.

The Newsroom (10pm, HBO) -The premiere of a new drama from Aaron Sorkin ("West Wing" "Social Network") set at a cable news network. In the first episode, popular "News Night" anchor Will McAvoy (Jeff Daniels) returns to work after a public meltdown to find most of his staff has jumped ship, but new hires help steer the show when news of a catastrophe breaks. Also stars Sam Waterston and Jane Fonda. Adrienne has a review.

The Great Escape (10pm, TNT) - Fom the producers of "The Amazing Race,"
a new reality competition series in which teams of everyday people must overcome obstacles and dodge pursuers to escape from tight situations at notable locations. Tonight's first episode features an escape from Alcatraz.

Longmire (10pm, A&E) - A fisherman discovers the bodies of two murder victims, including a team from the Cheyenne reservation.

A look at Aaron Sorkin's 'Newsroom' (VIDEO)

Here's a tantalizing look at Aaron Sorkin's new drama "Newsroom," coming to HBO June 24. It looks great. My only note to Sorkin: more Sam Waterston, please. Thanks.
