Database updated with Sunday's new coupons

The News & Observer's  coupon database has been updated with Sunday's new coupons.

The home-delivered Final Edition of The News & Observer contains one coupon book, a Red Plum, with 40 coupons totaling $90 in face value.

Parade magazine also contains one coupon this week.

And be on the look out for a one-page P&G insert with four healthy and beauty coupons, including a BOGO offer on Pantene products. This insert may have been zoned according to address so no guarantees that you received it.

Not familiar with the coupon database? You can access it on the right-hand side of the blog. There's a button at the bottom right to view it as a full-size page.

Or, you can download it as an Excel spreadsheet by clicking on the attachment at the bottom of this post.

It's a handy tool, giving you the most timely and detailed list of coupons in the Triangle.

Hello again

Ashley Suarez-Ortiz, News Clerk, writes:

The last few months have been hard. I am seriously sleep-deprived and I have been trying to do the best I can taking care of my two small children while my husband is away from town... needless to say, losing weight has become at the bottom of my list of priorities at the time.

I haven't had much time to exercise, unless you count chasing my kids around the house, the countless trips up and down the stairs to my apartment and my small walks when I take my breaks at lunch, although better than nothing, they surely are not enough to tip the scales in my favor.

I did manage a trip to the State's Farmer's Market Monday and was able to acquire the most delicious peaches I have ever eaten. I have already ate almost all of the ones I purchased and will certainly be returning soon to purchase more.

I also plan to take my normal stroll to the Downtown Raleigh Farmer's Market, who knows what delicious treasures I may find while I am there.

But as for now, I am doing my best to watch what I eat but things have not being going as well as I had originally planned but that is the story of life, things happen and you have to be able to run with it.

I hope that all the readers out there are doing well and please feel free to leave your comments below. Happy reading.

Sorry for the absence

Hello everyone,

Sorry for the long absence. I have been so busy that I have lacked time to write my blog. I am still fighting the battle to loose the weight.  I have begun going to the Farmer's Market once a week with two co-workers for lunch. It gives us something healthy to eat.

I also have cut back on the amount of soda I drink and have been trying to cut back on the sweets and other junk food I eat. I have been buying healthier snacks. I am sure these two changes will begin to show results soon.

Asides from that, I am just trying to keep up with life. I hope my words although few are helpful to any readers out there.

I look forward to reading your comments below.

Kicking the unhealthy snacks

Ashley Suarez-Ortiz, News Clerk, writes: First I wanted to take the chance to apologize for my lack of posting recently. Things have been quite hectic lately. I am going to try to do better. That being said, I have realized my problem when it comes to losing the baby weight, I so desperately want to lose.

My main problem is that when I get bored, I start snacking and most of the time on something that is not so good for me.... and its not that I don't buy healthy ones because I do. And if I am in the right mind, I try to force myself to eat some.

One thing I do love... vegetables. But lately, I have been slacking in making sure I eat them. So I guess, the best thing for me to do now it to make sure that I not only eat vegetables but that I eat enough to cover my lack of fruit eating.

Another problem I have is the amount of soda I drink. This is another thing I need to work on lowering that because that causes a whole set of its own problems.

I guess that is the first part of solving the problem, is coming to terms with what it is, not I saw have to do something to fix.

Leave your comments below, I would love to hear your thoughts.
