"Lost" star joins USA Network's "Psych"

Nestor Carbonell, who played Richard Alpert on ABC's "Lost," will join "Psych" this season for a multi-episode arc as a criminal profiler who rivals pretend-psychic Shawn (James Roday) both professionally and romantically (Jules, no!).

According to Fancast, Gus (Dule Hill) even dubs the character, "Shawn 2.0."

Ouch.

Lost recap 6.16 - "What They Died For"

Our "Lost" blogger Luci Chavez on last night's episode. If you want to email her and commiserate, go for it.

There is a candidate. And as much as I want to scream and rail, now knowing who it is, I cannot. We knew it all along.

Sunday cannot come soon enough. I am not sure how much more of this my TV heart can take.

SPOILER ALERT

About tonight's episode of Lost...

A plug from our "Lost" blogger Luci Chavez:

ABC will NOT air a new episode of Lost tonight in its 9 p.m. timeslot. Still, no reason to weep or gnash the teeth. They're repeating "Ab Aeterno"  — the Richard Alpert-centric episode, played to near pitch-perfection by Papi Chulo himself, Nestor Carbonell.

Seriously, it was an incredible episode, perhaps the best executed so far this season. In it, we find out just how Richard came to live forever young and just how much he and Sayid have in common.

(Additional programming note: ABC will premiere a new drama tomorrow night at 9pm 10pm, which it hopes will resonate with "Lost" fans. "Happy Town" is sort of a failed "Twin Peaks" - "X-Files" mashup. Here's what the Chicago Tribune's TV critic Maureen Ryan thought of the show, in the form of an imaginary memo to ABC.)

Lost recap 6.12 - "Everybody Loves Hugo"

Our "Lost" blogger Luci Chavez on last night's episode...

Nothing makes me happier than seeing the gang all back together in this Hurley-centric episode. But the Tryon Road Council of One is still deliberating the wisdom of Hugo taking a leadership role in this nasty conundrum we know as Lost.

The big shibiznit is coming and it's going to be bloody. There will come a time when someone needs to straight-up shoot someone or bash someone in the head with a gun or a boot or a tree branch. Hurley, God love him, isn't THAT guy.

This makes me so nervous for the end, and by the end, I mean five episodes from now.

SPOILER ALERT.

Lost recap 6.9 - "Ab Aeterno"

The latest recap from Luci Chavez:

I was so hoping this episode about Richard Alpert (Nestor Carbonell, a.k.a. Papi Chulo) would be at least 75 percent as interesting as the title "Ab Aeterno."

That's Latin for "from the eternal." Loosely, according to Wikipedia, it means from some time in the past, something created outside of time. Love that, especially since Papi has been Jacob's consigliere for a long time. Papi defies time. And looks fabulous doing it.

Turns out I loved this episode. It was the best telenovela I've ever seen.

SPOILER ALERT

Lost recap 6.4 - "The Substitute"

Our "Lost" junkie Luci Chavez reports on last night's episode:

Oooooh! So that's what that's all about.

DO NOT READ ON IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED THE EPISODE. SERIOUSLY. I WON'T BE HELD RESPONSIBLE.

I'm going to argue that the BIG THING revealed in this episode is not so big.

LOST recap 6.2 - LAX, part 2

Our "Lost" junkie Luci Chavez reports on last night's final season premiere:

Second hour of the season premiere. Welcome to the parallel universe known as Perdida. (It's a joke. It's a Spanish word. Look it up.) Read on at your own ask. What, you didn't watch it on Tuesday? For shame. (You can read part 1 here).

SPOILER ALERT after the jump!

LOST recap 6.1 - LAX, part 1

Our "Lost" junkie Luci Chavez reports on last night's final season premiere:

The wait was worth it. We know what the smoke monster REALLY is. But I can't bear, after the first hour of the Season 6 premiere, that I'm still so confused. I'm desperate to understand.

Lost is such a "have faith or else" experience. Very Catholic, that. But I have faith. Faith is strong in this one. (Great. Now I sound like Yoda.)

SPOILER ALERT. Read on ...

A better 'Lost' poster

Here's another version of the Lost poster for the final season on ABC.

Check out Josh Holloway rocking the eyeliner. (Maybe not. I might be a tad vengeful after everyone gave Nestor Carbonell the business for being Cuban last year.)

And is that? Could it be? Well, hello Ian Somerhalder. Last time I saw you, Boone, you were dead.

And check out Sayid (Naveen Andrews). My man!

I like seeing all the old faces from S1 and S2 in this poster. (I avoid spoilers at all costs so if I sound uninformed on this end, I am. I NEED to be surprised. It's my raison d'etre.) If it means Lindelof/Abrams have stopped poking my perpetual Lost wound and stopped introducing new characters, I can sleep soundly tonight.

'Lost' recap 5.15: Follow the leader

We go into Lost episode No. 101 — "Follow the Leader" — knowing Daniel died failing to detonate the bomb to stop the big energy surge that sets in motion everything that leads to 815 crashing on the island.

Will anyone else pick up the Daniel baton? Will they even want to? Hmmmm. They're setting up next week's two-hour finale. Are you ready?  I can't hear you. Are you READY? That's better. Careful now. SPOILERS AHEAD.
