Also stars Emma Samms ("General Hospital").

Tanked (9pm, Animal Planet) - In the third season premiere, Brett and Wayde work on a shark tank with a "Jaws" theme for comedian Tracy Morgan.

What to Watch on Saturday: Final day of Olympic swimming, so get ready for track and field

2012 Summer Olympics (NBC) - You can check to see when and where games are playing on the NBC Olympics schedule page. Today is the final day of swimming (Gold Medal swimmer Missy Franklin pictured here) -- and Michael Phelps' final Olympic competition ever. Other highlights include lots of track and field -- the heptathlon, the women's 100m, and men's long jump -- springboard diving and beach volleyball. More tips on watching the Olympic games.

My Cat From Hell (8pm, Animal Planet) - Does it seem like I talk about this show a lot? It's because I do. Because it's amazing. Tonight, Jackson Galaxy helps a couple whose family won't visit because of their cat's bad temper, and a woman whose cat doesn't like her boyfriend.

What to Watch on Saturday: Olympics and 'Oddities'

2012 Summer Olympics (NBC) -  You can check to see when and where games are playing on the NBC Olympics schedule page. Highlights today include men's and women's swimming and U.S. women's beach volleyball. In the men's 440IM, Michael Phelps (left) goes head-to-head with Ryan Lochte. Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh Jennings compete in volleyball. Here are tips on watching the Olympic games.

Oddities (8pm, Discovery) - The name of the show is pretty much self-explanatory. It's about odd stuff, like pickled hearts and skull collections. And there are 6 new, back-to-back episodes on tonight.

My Cat from Hell (8pm, Animal Planet) - A cat ruins furniture, knocks things off shelves and climbs window screens in an effort to escape.  Also, a cat tries to stop a wedding (essentially).

NYC 22 (8pm, CBS) - White House tries to talk a suicidal man from jumping off the ledge of a high-rise building. Meanwhile, Lazarus and Tonya attempt to locate the parents of a minor involved in a hate crime.

The Philadelphia Experiment (9pm, Syfy) - A WWII-era experiment is revived with disastrous results as an old warship rematerializes to wreak havoc. It's up to the experiment's sole survivor and his granddaughter to stop it.

What to Watch on Saturday: Gary Cole in Lifetime's 'An Officer and a Murderer'

NYC 22 (8pm, CBS) - Jackpot and White House attempt to rescue a pregnant woman and her husband from a burning car following a crash, while Lazarus and Tonya guard a raided PCP lab.

My Cat From Hell (8pm, Animal Planet) - Jackson Galaxy tackles a cat whose constant crying wakes its owners at 4 a.m., and a cat who chews everything.

An Officer and a Murderer (8pm, Lifetime) - A small town detective investigates a high ranking Canadian Air Force officer (Gary Cole) who is suspected of murder, sexual assaults and a series of home invasions in which women's lingerie and photos were stolen. Also stars Laura Harris and Rossif Sutherland. Based on a true story (see "Beyond the Headlines" below!).

How to Fall in Love (9pm, Hallmark) - A shy man hires a dating coach, who also happens to be the girl he had a crush on in high school, to help him improve his romantic prospects.

Beyond the Headlines (10pm, Lifetime) - This is kind of brilliant. Lifetime follows their "An Officer and a Murderer" movie with a look at the real life case on which it's based. This one-hour show investigates the life of Col. Russell Williams, a Canadian Air Force commander who murdered two women, sexually assaulted two others, and committed 82 burglaries.

Todd Barry: Super Crazy (11pm, Comedy Central) - Super low-key but very funny comedian Todd Barry performs in New York City at the Grammercy Theatre, touching on travel tips, his life as a germophobe, and the real value of spaghetti at restaurants.

What to Watch on Saturday: George Lopez special airs live on HBO

NYC 22 (8pm, CBS) - Two episodes tonight. In the first, Kenny and Ahmad search for a suspected rapist at a Harlem block party. In the second, Kenny and Ahmad investigate when an Ivy League student robs the man who mentors him.

An American Girl: McKenna Shoots for the Stars (8pm, NBC) - In a movie based on the American Girl dolls, a confident young gymnast struggles in the classroom, but with the help of family and friends, finds a way to believe in herself again.

My Cat From Hell (8pm, Animal Planet) - A woman, who I will probably judge, is ready to give up on her cat because of its unpleasant disposition.

Bad Dog! (9pm, Animal Planet) - A monkey rides a family dog like a racehorse. Shouldn't that be on a show called "Bad Monkey!"?

True Bloodthirst (9pm, Syfy) - A clash between vampires and humans unfolds in a not-too-distant future where both species coexist openly, with the former subsiding on synthetic blood as the human population begins to dwindle.

George Lopez: It's Not Me, It's You (10pm, HBO) - In his third HBO special, comedian George Lopez delivers observations on the state of Latinos in the United States and talks about "Latino environmental firsts." He's also likely to talk about politics and his visit to the White House. The special comes to you live from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. Check out this clip of Lopez taking about the special.

The Firm (10pm, NBC) - I think this is it. For real this time. In what I honestly believe to be the series finale, a new enemy will emerge on Ray and Tammy's wedding day, and Mitch will make a startling discovery tied to the Patrick Walker case.

Unstable (10pm, Lifetime) - A newly divorced mom is terrorized by a stalker after she hires a handsome stranger as a caretaker and invites him to live in her guest house.

What to Watch on Saturday: Cat Listener vs. Dog Whisperer

My Cat From Hell (8pm, Animal Planet) - "Cat listener" Jackson Galaxy (left) helps a couple whose cat's mood darkens after they adopt a kitten. Also, a woman's son is afraid of her cat since it has become "meaner" with age. (That's called "crotchety" and it's a right of the elderly.)

Dog Whisperer (8pm, National Geographic Wild) - In the Season 9 opener, Cesar Milan travels to the U.K. to help troubled dog owners, including a 17-year-old who needs help handling his out-of-control Jack Russell terriers. In an episode at 9, Milan meets a pup who must be muzzled in public and a pair of German shepherd littermates who have grown wild and dominant with one another.

NYC 22 (8pm, CBS) - Remember CBS's dull answer to "Rookie Blue?" It's canceled but there are a few unaired episodes, so might as well burn them off. At 8, Yoda recalls his day as a rookie when a drug lord from the 1980s is released from prison and seeks revenge on those responsible for his arrest. At 9, robbers hold up a bar and trap off-duty officers Yoda, Tonya, Ahmad and Apple inside.

The Firm (10pm, NBC) - Speaking of canceled shows getting a summer burn-off, there's another episode of "The Firm" on the schedule.

My Ghost Story: Caught on Camera (10pm, Bio) - A man captures a paranormal animal on video and investigators see the face of a child who drowned. Also, a dead boy stalks two women and spirits inhabit a building that once served the Underground Railroad.

"NYC 22" feels like a rookie show about rookie cops

It's awfully hard to come up with a new twist on the cop show, and yet everyone keeps on trying.

The latest effort "NYC 22" (10 tonight, CBS) comes from executive producer Robert De Niro and writer/creator Richard Price, the author of "Clockers" and "Freedomland" (two great, gritty reads) and screenplays for the films "Sea of Love" and the Oscar-nominated "The Color of Money." Native New Yorkers both, they've set the show in "upper Manhattan" aka Harlem, and populated it with a realistically diverse cast of characters.

And yet, the show is about as white bread bland as it can be.

What to Watch on Sunday: A Mike Wallace tribute and a batch of new shows

60 Minutes (7pm, CBS) - Tonight, a tribute to longtime "60 Minutes" correspondent Mike Wallace, who died last week at the age of 93.

Titanic (9pm, ABC) - The conclusion to Julian Fellowes' miniseries based on the sinking of the Titanic.

The Good Wife (9pm, CBS) - Alicia is forced back into the public spotlight by Peter's latest political rival.

The Mystery of Edwin Drood (9pm, UNC-TV) - An adaptation of Charles Dickens' unfinished story about an opium-addled choirmaster (played by Matthew Rhys, who was Kevin Walker on "Brothers & Sisters") who believes his nephew stands between him and the woman he fancies. When the nephew goes missing, the question is, did the uncle murder him or did someone else?

Nurse Jackie (9pm, Showtime) - Carmelo Anthony has a small part in tonight's episode, which focuses on Jackie's stint in rehab.

The Celebrity Apprentice (9pm, NBC) - Clay is still in the game. Tonight, the teams must design two original puppets and perform an improvisational show with a Henson Alternative troupe. Expect: drama drama drama.

NYC 22 (10pm, CBS) - A new series about six NYPD rookies trying to balance their personal lives with work. Tonight, rookies go on their first patrol and try to prevent a gang war and a domestic murder. Here's Adrienne's review.

Mad Men (10pm, AMC) - Tonight's cryptic episode summary: Lane makes an interesting friend and Pete plays host to an assortment of guests.

Girls (10:30pm, HBO) - In the premiere of a new comedy about a group of twentysomething women navigating life in New York, Hannah (Lena Dunham) gets shattering news from her parents and then loses her unpaid internship. This series is crazy good. Here's my full review.
