RALEIGH — Boston College quarterback Chris Crane broke hearts at Carter-Finley Stadium on Saturday afternoon with a 13-yard touchdown run with 22.8 seconds remaining to give the Eagles a 38-31 win over N.C. State.
After the Wolfpack bounced back from a two-touchdown, fourth-quarter deficit to tie, Crane drove the Eagles 70 yards in seven plays for the touchdown.
Crane completed a 36-yard pass to tight end Lars Anderson to put Boston College in scoring position at the N.C. State 34-yard line. Crane then finished off the Wolfpack with keepers of 9 and 13 yards to drop N.C. State coach Tom O'Brien to 0-2 against his former team.
Crane passed for 428 yards, ran for 42 more and had three rushing touchdowns with two passing touchdowns.
