Records fall in N.C. Law Enforcement Torch Run 5K benefit for Special Olympics

The men's and women's course records fell during the N.C. Law Enforcement Torch Run 5K held Saturday in Raleigh.

Srini Iyer, 20, of Raleigh was the first to finish in the field of more
than 700 runners and walkers, covering the 5K route in a course-record
16 minutes, 8 seconds, event organizer Jim Young of timing company
Young and Associates said.

Kimberly Bowler, 38, of Raleigh finished 22th overall in 19:35, setting the women's course record.
