Conan O'Brien speaks! First look.

Conan O'Brien's departure contract with NBC prohibited him from speaking about the NBC mess on television or in print until May 1. Well, guess what. It's May 1.

That means CBS was able to release a portion of his upcoming "60 Minutes" interview, which airs tomorrow night (7pm).

Click below to watch a bit of Conan talking to Steve Kroft about how he wouldn't have done to Jay Leno what Leno did to him...

Conan O'Brien to be interviewed on "60 Minutes"

NBC has legally kept Conan O'Brien from speaking out on television or in print about his departure from "The Tonight Show," but all of that ends this Sunday when Conan is interviewed on CBS's "60 Minutes."

The NBC deal said Conan must keep his silence until May 1. "60 Minutes" will air on May 2. Because of that clause in the contract, CBS can't even use Conan's face before May 2 in promos for their show.

TNT renews Southland for third season

TNT announced today that they have renewed "Southland," the fantastic cop drama they rescued from the NBC trash heap this past fall.

"Southland's" second season, which just ended last month, was only 6 episodes long. Those were the only episodes filmed before NBC dumped it. The show's renewal on TNT was anything but given, so this is great news for "Southland" fans.

TNT ordered ten episodes for season 3, which will begin airing in January 2011.

The Office recap: 'C' is for suspended

In honor of Pam's maternity leave, I, too, took an extended break from posting Office recaps.

With Scranton's cutest new mom back at work and fending off Dwight's offers to help pump her breast milk ("Three squeezes and I would drain you."), it's time once again to answer the eternal Dunder Mifflin question: can any of these lonely people find love outside this office building?

This tired, sixth season of The Office has offered few surprises. In Thursday night's episode, though, kudos to unworldly receptionist Erin for growing a spine and slamming her banjo-playing suitor Andy with a cake in the face.

What to Watch on Friday: NBC goes family friendly

Secrets of the Mountain (8pm, NBC) - In this made-for-TV movie, a woman (Paige Turco) decides to sell a mountain cabin she inherited from her uncle (Barry Bostwick) and takes her kids there on a weekend trip to finalize the deal. The family ends up uncovering a mystery someone doesn't want them to know about, and things get dangerous. Sounds like a live-action version of a Scooby Doo cartoon. But it's family friendly TV so I'm not knocking it.

Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution (9pm, ABC) - Jamie's still fighting the good fight in Huntington, West Virginia, but is anyone paying attention? Tonight, to gain much-needed funding, he must rely on the testimony of his biggest critic in all this, Alice the Lunch Lady. There's more information about Jamie's mission (plus lots of great looking recipes) at his website.

What Not To Wear Awards (9pm, TLC) - Stacy and Clinton recall the most memorable moments in "What Not To Wear" history, and then a couple get a chance to change each other's wardrobe.

Conan O'Brien lands at TBS

Conan O'Brien, who very famously left NBC's "The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien" earlier this year after a shake-up involving Jay Leno and shifting time slots, will host a new late night talk show on TBS beginning in November.

The news is a bit of a surprise since industry watchers were betting on Conan moving to Fox, since his people have been in negotiations with them for awhile. Negotiations with TBS began only ten days ago. The New York Times has more on how the deal went down.

Conan's new show will air at 11pm, against "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" and "The Colbert Report," both on Comedy Central. TBS already has a late night talk show at 11pm, hosted by George Lopez. Lopez will move to midnight, which is kind of funny considering the reason Conan left NBC to start with was because he didn't want his show moved to midnight.

How to watch TV on your new iPad

If you're a proud "early adapter" and lucky enough to get yourself an iPad today, the first thing you'll probably want to do is watch some TV on it. (Right?)

Here are your options.

ABC has already released a video player for the iPad. The app is free but the streaming full episodes are advertiser-supported. You just need a WiFi connection. You can also watch Disney shows with the Disney app, and sports content with the ESPN app (although the ESPN app so far isn't getting great reviews). ABC and ESPN are owned by Disney.

The "Parks & Recreation" summer catalog

Last night's excellent episode of NBC's "Parks and Recreation" centered around Leslie Knope's efforts to put together the city's summer catalog for the Pawnee Parks Department.

Here's that catalog.

You can read about all the featured classes, including "Get Digital" (learn DOS and Lycos!) and "Raccoon Trapping" (never again fear raccoon attacks!).

But the staff bio section is the best. Did you know that April (featured on the cover) was born in Bjork's house in Iceland and enjoys reading "Family Circus" and traveling through time? She's also in charge of the bio section of the catalog, and no one checks over her work.

On the scene for NBC casting call in Raleigh

N&O food writer Andrea Weigl was on hand yesterday at the casting call for Bobby Flay's new NBC reality-competition show, "America's Next Great Restaurant."

The concept of the show is that people pitch their idea for a great restaurant and then compete with others to get their idea backed by a team of investors. There was a great turnout at the Chipotle on Falls of Neuse. Read all about in Andrea's story, which appeared in today's N&O.

Raleigh casting call for new Bobby Flay reality show

Celebrity chef Bobby Flay is starring in a new reality show for NBC next season, and he'll have a casting team in Raleigh on Monday looking for contestants.

The big prize -- the chance to open your own restaurant chain.

The show is tentatively titled "America's Next Great Restaurant," and Flay will be an investor, judge, and mentor to contestants.

Contestants do not need to have any previous cooking or restaurant experience to try out. Producers say they are just looking for "a great idea for a unique restaurant concept."
