My Cat From Hell (8pm, Animal Planet) - "Cat listener" Jackson Galaxy (left) helps a couple whose cat's mood darkens after they adopt a kitten. Also, a woman's son is afraid of her cat since it has become "meaner" with age. (That's called "crotchety" and it's a right of the elderly.)
Dog Whisperer (8pm, National Geographic Wild) - In the Season 9 opener, Cesar Milan travels to the U.K. to help troubled dog owners, including a 17-year-old who needs help handling his out-of-control Jack Russell terriers. In an episode at 9, Milan meets a pup who must be muzzled in public and a pair of German shepherd littermates who have grown wild and dominant with one another.
NYC 22 (8pm, CBS) - Remember CBS's dull answer to "Rookie Blue?" It's canceled but there are a few unaired episodes, so might as well burn them off. At 8, Yoda recalls his day as a rookie when a drug lord from the 1980s is released from prison and seeks revenge on those responsible for his arrest. At 9, robbers hold up a bar and trap off-duty officers Yoda, Tonya, Ahmad and Apple inside.
The Firm (10pm, NBC) - Speaking of canceled shows getting a summer burn-off, there's another episode of "The Firm" on the schedule.
My Ghost Story: Caught on Camera (10pm, Bio) - A man captures a paranormal animal on video and investigators see the face of a child who drowned. Also, a dead boy stalks two women and spirits inhabit a building that once served the Underground Railroad.
