What to Watch on Wednesday: Power of reality TV, McCreery on CMTs

CMT Music Awards (8pm, CMT) - "American Idol" winner Scotty McCreery will be a presenter on tonight's award show, which is hosted by Kid Rock. Rascal Flatts, Keith Urban, Jason Aldean, Sugarland, and Lady Antebellum are scheduled to perform.

Minute to Win It/America's Got Talent (8pm, NBC) - This is happening all night long. 'Minute' starts at 8pm and then two hours of 'AGT.'

So You Think You Can Dance (8pm, Fox) - Contestants go to Las Vegas for callbacks to compete for a spot in the Top 20.

Haunted Collector (9pm, Syfy) - The second episode of a new show in which a team of paranormal "experts" visit locations to determine the source of a haunting -- which is sometimes, according to them, an inanimate object that spirits affix to. So yes, that creepy clown cookie jar you got from your grandmother? It might actually be haunted.

20/20 (10pm, ABC) - On a night when the only new content on the major broadcast networks is reality programming, ABC explores the popularity and profitability of reality television in America. Since they're talking about making lots of money, expect lots of discussion of MTV's 'Jersey Shore' (right).

Men of a Certain Age (10pm, TNT) - Joe does a favor for his ailing bookie, Manfro, and Terry faces up to the end of his romance with Erin. Great episode.

Locked Up Abroad (10pm, National Geographic Channel) - Mobster turned informant Henry Hill, who was portrayed by Ray Liotta in Martin Scorsese's "Goodfellas," shares his story.

What to Watch on Sunday: NC brothers compete on 'Minute to Win It'

Minute to Win It (8pm, NBC) - Richard and Randall Norman, brothers from Lenoir, North Carolina, try to win a million dollars playing games like the Hoop De Loop challenge, where younger brother Richard must roll a hula-hoop across the floor and land three of them around seven full two-liter soda bottles.

National Memorial Day Concert (8pm, UNC-TV) - From the West Lawn of the U.S. Capital, Gary Sinise and Joe Mantegna host the 2011 tribute to America's military personnel, which this year also honors those who died on 9/11. Slated performers include Yolanda Adams, B.B. King, NYPD tenor Daniel Rodriguez, Hayley Westenra, Pia Toscano, Kris Allen, and the National Symphony Orchestra. This repeats at 9:30.

Game of Thrones (9pm, HBO) - With conflict looming, Tywin urges Jaime to preserve the Lannisters' future. Also, Ned presses Cersei about the death of Jon Arryn, and Jon takes his vows at Castle Black, though he's preoccupied by Benjen's disappearance.

Treme (10pm, HBO) - News of Jacques' troubles reaches Janette and Nelson does a favor for Oliver Thomas. Performances by John Hiatt and Henry Butler.

The Killing (10pm, AMC) - The police must regroup after they have second thoughts about their prime suspect, which has a big impact on Richmond's standings in the polls. Also, Stan could quite possibly (and very rightfully!) end up behind bars.

What to Watch on Tuesday: Christmas 'Glee' and World War II

North Carolina's WWII Experience (8pm, UNC-TV) - A wonderful documentary produced by UNC-TV in which North Carolina veterans and other citizens recall experiences from World War II, both at home and abroad.

Inside the Actors Studio (8pm, Bravo) - Actor James Franco chats about his life and career in an interview with James Lipton.

Glee (8pm, Fox) - In the show's Christmas episode, Finn tries to bring holiday cheer to McKinley High, and Artie discovers that Brittany still believes in Santa. Also, Sue Sylvester hijacks the teachers' Secret Santa tradition.

Minute to Win It (8pm, NBC) - Tonight's games have a Christmas theme. Followed by "The Biggest Loser," in which the season's two finalists are named.

Raising Hope (9pm, Fox) - Jimmy pleads with Burt to save a special doll for Hope during his annual scheme of scalping the season's hottest toy, and Virginia campaigns to get the family in their church's living nativity scene.

Warehouse 13 (10pm, Syfy) - Pete and Myka investigate robberies linked to a malevolent Santa Claus while Artie reunites with his father (Judd Hirsch) on Hanukkah.

Detroit 1-8-7 (10pm, ABC) - Della Reese guest stars as the mother of a long-missing young black man whose remains, along with those of a young white woman, are found in an abandoned fallout shelter. Longford and Mahajan's investigation is helped by an unlikely source: Longford's estranged father, a former cop.

Good, clean fun on "Minute to Win It"

Guy Fieri needs another show like he needs a hole in the head, but I can see the allure of "Minute to Win It." (NBC, 7 tonight; 2 hour premiere)

It's a family-friendly show, one that will get him on the radar of folks with little interest in the Food Network.

My little one, a devotee of ABC's "America's Funniest Videos" which airs at the same time, is already talking about splitting the hour so as to see some of both shows. (Apparently, not ALL the videos are that funny.)
