Chef Michael Chuong, formerly of An in Cary, will open his new restaurant, Elements, in Chapel Hill, tomorrow night.
Chuong sent out an email Friday to his loyal customers about his new venture. We got him on the phone today. Chuong describes the restaurant as a farm-to-table concept using using Asian, European and modern cooking techniques to prepare local ingredients and sustainable seafood. . It also will have a raw bar and serve specialty cocktails, sustainable wine and local beers. (To see the menu, go HERE.)
The 4,000-square-foot restaurant can seat 100 people inside and 40 people on the patio. It is located at the East 54 Urban Village, near the Aloft Hotel and Saffron, the well-regarded Indian restaurant.
Many of Chuong's fans will be cheering his return to the Triangle dining scene.Chuong, himself, said it was inevitable: "It's a passion."
The restaurant will be open for lunch Tuesdays-Fridays (11 a.m.-2:30 p.m.) and dinner Tuesdays-Sundays (5-10 p.m.). Closed Mondays.
