Chapel Hill attorney's "Millionaire" stint for the birds?

Dean Woodward, a patent attorney from Chapel Hill, came away from his shot on "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" today winning just $5,000. Still, $5,000 is $5,000. I wouldn't turn it down!

Woodward actually made it to the $15,000 question on the game show hosted by Meredith Vieira, but got it wrong. Here's the question, from the category 'Bird Brains:' “Also known as corvids, what highly intelligent birds have even been known to use tools? A: Parrots, B: Penguins, C: Owls, D: Crows.”

Kate Gosselin talks to Meredith Vieira Monday on "Today"

"Jon & Kate Plus 8" star Kate Gosselin recently sat for an interview with "Today" co-anchor Meredith Vieira, and told Vieira that she's hesitant to believe that her husband Jon Gosselin actually cheated on her before their separation.

Jon and the kids were originally supposed to appear on "Today" with Kate, but because of all the controversy surrounding their marriage, Kate ended up making the trip alone. She's on a tour promoting her new book, "Eight Little Faces."

The interview will air Monday (August 10) on "Today" at 7am. Check back here on Monday for more info on the interview after it airs.

Tracy Zothner did not reach her goal of making at least $25,000 on "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire."

Instead, the Apex native walked away with $1,000 after missing the $2,000 question.

The category was B-I-N-G-O.

The question was:

On a standard Bingo card, the 'Free Space' is in the column beneath what letter?

Apex's Tracy Zothner tries her luck and tests her trivia know-how on "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire," on shows that air Tuesday and Wednesday. It comes on WTVD at 12:30 p.m.

"I've always enjoyed the show, especially when Regis [Philbin] was on," says Zothner. "I've tried to get on every since then. I've always enjoyed trivia games. I have a lot of useless information in my head."

Raleigh woman doesn't become a millionaire
