What to Watch on Tuesday: Heather Locklear returns to awful Melrose Place

Merry Madagascar (8pm, NBC) - And here we go with the first major network prime time Christmas special, more than a week before Thanksgiving. It has Carl Reiner so I'm cutting it some slack.

Biggest Loser (8:30pm, NBC) - Tim Gunn ("Project Runway") and Tabatha Coffey ("Tabatha's Salon Takeover") are on hand to makeover the remaining contestants.

Melrose Place (9pm, CW) - Amanda Woodward is back, beaches! And she promptly fires half the staff at the WPK Agency, including Caleb. So what do you think, can Heather Locklear (right) save this awful show?

John Mayer  Live from the Beacon Theater (9pm, Fuse) - It's your favorite breathy-voiced singer-songwriter in a live show from Beacon Theater in New York. You are cordially invited to tweet about your viewing experience using #mayoronfuse and you could see your tweet live on TV during the show (and if you're on Twitter, you better be following us @WarmTV!). Fuse is channel 133 on Time Warner Cable, 339 on DirecTV, or DISH 158.

NCIS: Los Angeles (9pm, CBS) - A murdered marine leads to a volatile militia group and a stolen missile. Unfortunately, the team has to work without Hetty, who is testifying in D.C.

What to Watch on Friday: Michael Jordan, LaToya Jackson, and vital repeats

Basketball Hall of Fame Enshrinement From Springfield, Massachusetts (6:30, ESPN) - UNC and Chicago Bulls superstar Michael Jordan is among the 2009 class being enshrined in the Basketball Hall of Fame. Also, David Robinson, John Stockton, C. Vivian Stringer, and Jerry Sloan.

Vampire Diaries (8pm, CW) - If you missed Thursday night's premiere, you can catch a repeat tonight. Then watch a repeat of the "Melrose Place" premiere from Tuesday night at 9pm.

Glee (9pm, Fox) - Ditto for "Glee." I'm so glad Fox is showing the "Glee" premiere for a second time. They can't show it too many times for me! If you didn't see it Wednesday, please please watch it tonight. Cheerios coach Jane Lynch (right) is the show stealer.

Monk (9pm, USA) - Jay Mohr guest stars as a defense attorney who gets Monk on the stand and questions his unusual investigative techniques.

20/20 (10pm, ABC) - LaToya Jackson talks to Barbara Walters. If that's not enough, LaToya will also appear on "The View" on Monday.

Melrose Place: Version 2.0 is off to a good start

It's probably too early to tell for sure whether new Melrose Place will be as much fun as the original.

But it sure got off to a good start.

What to Watch on Tuesday: Melrose Place-90210 doubleheader

90210 (8pm, The CW) - Second season premiere has Annie still coping with the aftermath of her accident from last season.

Melrose Place (9pm, The CW) - This much-anticipated remake of the legendary 90s soap is an homage to its predecessor, but it's also a bit more sophisticated. The writers will instill a sense of "anything can happen," so don't get too attached to any of the characters. There's a death in the first ten minutes of the premiere, and the rest of the season will revolve around solving the murder. Check back here on Wednesday for a recap.

Shaq vs. (9pm, ABC) - Tonight, Shaq puts on the gloves to fight Oscar De La Hoya. There will have to be some major restrictions on this fight to keep even an untrained Shaq from killing De La Hoya, since Shaq is more than a foot taller and twice the weight of the champion boxer.

Sons of Anarchy (10pm, FX) - Season two premieres tonight. Adam Arkin and Henry Rollins join the cast.

Flipping Out (10pm, Bravo) - Jeff hires a convict to replace weepy Rachel, who mercifully quit last week, saving Jeff the trouble of firing her behind. Why did he hire the ex-con? From viewing the previews I will venture that it was because he is pretty. It doesn't exactly work out.
