McCrimmon Parkway in Cary, closed since April, will reopen Thursday

Construction is wrapping up in Cary on twin, two-lane bridges that will lift McCrimmon Parkway over the Triangle Expressway toll road in western Wake County, and McCrimmon Parkway will reopen for traffic Thursday morning, DOT says.

The westbound bridge includes a five-foot-wide sidewalk. The eastbound bridge will have room in the future for a 10-foot-wide path for pedestrians and cyclists.

McCrimmon Parkway was closed last April just west of Panther Creek High School. TriEx is scheduled to open in phases -- through Research Triangle Park in December, and from RTP to Holly Springs in December 2012.

McCrimmon Parkway will be closed to traffic just west of Panther Creek High School in Cary for about 10 months, starting Monday, April 12.
