Former First Lady Mary Easley won't step down from her post at N.C. State.
This according to her attorney, Marvin Schiller, who spoke at length this morning at a press conference during which he read off glowing performance reviews Easley has received in her time at NCSU.
Mrs. Easley, whose job and pay raise late last year have been the matter of a great deal of public scrutiny, attended the press conference. She stood next to Schiller, smiling at times, but said nothing.
UNC system President Erskine Bowles and others have already said they want her to step down but don't want to buy out her work contract.
