Madonna strikes a pose -- in Charlotte

So did you enjoy Madonna's Super Bowl Halftime show in all its garish glory? Enough to want to truck over to Charlotte to see the expanded version in-person? Because yet another major tour is bypassing the Triangle to play the other end of the state instead. Madonna's world tour has been announced, with a Nov. 15 date in Charlotte.

Tickets go on sale March 5 -- more than eight months ahead of the show date. But it might not be a bad idea to wait. The tour schedule has open dates around Nov. 15, so it's possible that another date closer to the Triangle will pop up.

ADDENDUM: Madonna's Super Bowl show was...a Satanic ritual?...

Megafaun wins the Super Bowl!

Most of the Super Bowl's pre-game musical chatter centered on Madonna's halftime show, and her set was fine in a sensory-overload kind of way. But my favorite music during the game actually turned up right before halftime, in a Toyota commercial -- which featured the understated piano fanfare of "Hope You Know," a track on local trio Megafaun's eponymous 2011 album. Here, check it out.

Elvis is still everywhere

You know what today is, right? No, not Madonna's 52nd birthday -- it's the 33-year anniversary of Elvis Presley's death. So check out this commemorative photo gallery, which includes shots from Elvis performing in North Carolina more than 50 years ago.

What to Watch on Tuesday: The Madonna Episode on "Glee"

Nova: The Big Energy Gamble (8pm, UNC-TV) - This episode of Nova looks at the environmental pros and possible economic cons of California's green initiative, which seeks to return the state's carbon dioxide emissions to 1990 levels by 2020. Also, environmentalist Ed Begley, Jr. and Bill Nye ("The Science Guy") have a contest to see who can leave the smallest carbon footprint.

Glee (9pm, Fox) - It's the much-anticipated Madonna Episode. When the boys in glee club begin to bully the girls, Will turns them on to the music of Madonna -- to empower the girls and to teach the boys respect. They perform "Express Yourself" and "Like a Prayer." All of that will be great, I'm sure. But the best part of the episode promises to be the makeover which Kurt and Mercedes give to Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch, left). And yes, they'll show Sue's "Vogue" video again.

Parenthood (10pm, NBC) - Amber's ex boyfriend comes to town, which causes trouble. Joel and Julia worry that their daughter Sydney also has Asperger's Syndrome, and Crosby wants to help pay for Jabbar's birthday party.

Justified (10pm, FX) - A well-to-do Kentucky horse breeder is found dead of an apparent suicide and his art collection is missing. Raylan searches for the art but must also deal with the dead man's wife, who won't stop hitting on him.

"Glee" gets its "Vogue" on

"Glee" is back on the air again, finally, and Tuesday night's spring-season premiere featured a fantastic homage to Madonna's landmark 1990 "Vogue" video (sung by coach Sue Sylvester). Check that out and compare/contrast it with the original here.

(Thanks, Leigh.)

Madonna makes surprise (and lame) appearance on SNL

Last night's "Saturday Night Live" was pretty lame. There's really no other way to describe it.

I can't remember anything standing out as particularly funny except maybe Andy Samberg's digital short music video, "On the Ground," and Seth Myerson's joke about Kate Hudson's rumored pregnancy by NY Yankee Alex Rodriguez ("... it would be the first time he has produced in October.").

But what did stand out was the wasted opportunity sketch with Lady Gaga and surprise guest Madonna. Maybe it was cool that Madonna showed up and that she and LG were willing to poke fun at themselves. But this sketch was awful. We agree with E! Online that there was great potential here, but that the entire sketch was a flop.

And ditto for the show. Will someone please tell Fred Armisen that he can't do even a passable Obama?

VMAs & 20/20: Michael Jackson's sisters on TV

One of the consequences of Michael Jackson's death is that his family has regained the spotlight, and like a lot of us, Michael has some crazy folk in his family.

Which brings us to LaToya Jackson.

But before we go there, last night's Video Music Awards on MTV opened with a tribute to the King of Pop, with Janet Jackson. (Kanye West: rude jerk. Beyonce: class act.)
