New Sunday coupons = new deals at Lowes Foods Super Doubles

A new batch of coupons in Sunday's N&O means there are new deals to score at Lowes Foods in the final days of its Super Doubles coupon event.

Below I've listed the deals I discovered, including one freebie and several more items you can score for $1 or less through midnight Tuesday when the promotion ends.

Head over HERE to read my original list of the freebies and good deals you can pick up at Lowes Foods.

Please add any good deals you find.

No more double coupons at Kroger stores

Starting next month, Kroger stores in North Carolina will no longer double the value of manufacturer coupons, a move that is likely to disappoint bargain shoppers.

The chain also runs the risk of those shoppers, particularly those in the Triangle, turning to competing chains Harris Teeter and Lowes Foods, both of which aggressively promote double-coupon promotions.

Kroger spokesman Carl York said in an email that stores in the chain's Mid-Atlantic region would discontinue double coupons as of May 12.

Let's hear how you did at Triples and Super Doubles

It's a big week in the coupon world -- with competing coupon events at Lowes Foods and Harris Teeter.

It doesn't get much better than simultaneous Super Doubles and Triples. We've got to be the envy of coupon clippers across the country right now.

I'd love to hear how you did today -- and throughout the week. And I know your fellow couponers would too.

How much did you save? How much did you spend? Did you go to both stores or stick to just one?

Please share your totals, any unadvertised specials you found or even a funny story that happened in the aisles. Got a gripe? Share that too.

Here's how I did at back-to-back shops this morning:
(If you'd like to see pictures of both shops, head to the Centsible Saver Facebook page.)
