and 3 in the N.C. Soccer Coaches Association poll for 4-A girls.

Leesville Road wins Keith Hills golf

Golfers David Germann and Grayson Murray opened the 2010 season with
impressive performances under chilly conditions at the annual Keith
Hills High School Kickoff on Friday.

Murray, a sophomore at Leesville Road and a Wake Forest recruit, shot a
71 to help lead the Pride to the victory with a team total of 298
strokes.

Germann, also a sophomore, carded a four-under-par 68 for Clayton (301
strokes), who finished in second place. Broughton (302) came in third
place, followed by Pinecrest (306) and last year’s Independent 3A
champion Ravenscroft (307).

Got quite a few letters about the Wake County School Board's decision not to change some mandatory year-round schools back to traditional in light of lighter growth than anticipated.
