Millbrook, Harnett Central, Sobham and Tucker win state gymnastics titles

RALEIGH The Millbrook gymnastics team, led by its all-around champion Hannah Sobhan, snapped a five-year reign of Lee County by winning the state gymnastics title on Saturday in the large-team division.
"We knew it was going to be really close with [Lee County]," Millbrook coach Tim Baker said. "We've gone undefeated the whole season, won the conference and won the state, so we're happy."

After going 14-2 in league play, Holly Springs swept the Tri-Nine coach
and player of the year awards and placed four on the Tri-Nine
all-conference baseball teams.
Rod
Whitesell (left) was named Coach of the Year.
Golden Hawks star
pitcher Carlos Rodon (left) was Player of the Year. The junior
lefty and N.C. State commit threw a no-hitter, two one-hitters and four shutouts this season. He led the area with 129 strikeouts and a 0.80 ERA.
