The ACC just named University of Virginia sophomore Ben Kohles co-conference player of the year. Kohles is a 2008 graduate of Green Hope High School.
At Green Hope, Kohles was a part of the 2006 and 2007 4-A state championship teams and was 2008 Tri-Eight Conference player of the year. He is the first ACC co-player of the year since 1997.
Also on the all-conference list is Wake Forest's Lee Bedford. Bedford is a Cary Christian alum.
While at Cary Christian, Bedford was named to the all-state team four times, including three top-five finishes at the NCISAA state championship. He won the NCISAA championship as an individual in 2006 and helped the Knights win the team championship in 2008.
