What to Watch on Wednesday: 'Last Comic' gets first solo

Nature: Arctic Bears (8pm, UNC-TV) - This 2008 report examines what the future might hold for polar bears, which evolved from grizzly bears during the last ice age. The documentary also details how grizzlies are expanding their territory northward, encroaching upon the polar bears' domain.

Extreme Cheapskates (9pm, TLC) - From the network that brought you "Extreme Couponing," a look at people who get creative about being super thrifty.

Felipe Esparza: Don't Worry, They're Not Going to Laugh at You (10pm, Showtime) - Comedian Felipe Esparza, left, winner of 2010's "Last Comedian Standing" competition, gets his first solo stand-up special.

Hot in Cleveland (10pm, TV Land) - The ladies host a dinner party to solve some dating issues, which include: Roy's mother's hatred of Elka, Victoria's hand-model boyfriend (Sean Hayes), and Melanie's boyfriend's resemblance to Winnie the Pooh.

The Exes (10:30pm, TV Land) - Phil sleeps with Stuart's dental assistant and Eden shows Holly's borrowed clothes how to have a good time.

"Last Comic Standing" judge Greg Giraldo dies

Sad news. Comedian Greg Giraldo died today from a drug overdose. The 44-year-old comedian was a regular on Comedy Central and one of the judges on NBC's "Last Comic Standing." Giraldo was hospitalized this past weekend for what his agent called an accidental prescription drug overdose.

Click below to watch a short clip of Giraldo at a Comedy Central Roast for Chevy Chase (and yes, it's supposed to be mean). It's not suitable for family viewing. (The funnier ones -- roasting Larry the Cable Guy, Joan Rivers, and David Hasselhoff are really not suitable for family viewing.)

"Last Comic Standing" tour comes to Raleigh

The "Last Comic Standing Live Tour" is coming to Meymandi Hall in Raleigh this fall.

The NBC competition reality show had its seventh season finale this week, and winner Felipe Esparza will now tour the country with Tommy Johnagain (who came in second), Myq Kaplan, Roy Wood Jr., and Mike Destafano.

The Raleigh show, presented by Goodnight's Comedy Club, takes place on Friday, October 29. Since the show is at Meymandi Hall, you'll need to go through them to get tickets (or call 800-745-3000).

What to Watch on Monday: "Good Guys" cracks a case on the cheap

Bachelorette (8pm, ABC) - There's at least one "scandal" every season and this season it looks like our outrage will belong to Rated R. Tonight, Ali finds out that "entertainment wrestler Justin" has a girlfriend (or two, or three) back home and she throws his behind out. All of this goes down in Istanbul, which means he'll have a long way to hobble home on that boot cast.

Good Guys (9pm, Fox) - A drug smuggler is set free after a court disapproves of Dan's interrogation methods. The department won't give him the resources to nail him again, so Dan (Bradley Whitford, right) decides to catch him using just the money in his pocket. The title of the episode is "$3.52," if that tells you anything.

Last Comic Standing (9pm, NBC) - The first semifinal round kicks off tonight.

Kevorkian (9pm, HBO) - The latest in HBO's Summer Doc series is a look at Dr. Jack Kevorkian, the controversial right-to-die advocate. Features interviews with family, friends, journalists, attorneys, and Kevorkian himself. Directed by Matthew Galkin.

NC folks bring laughs on "Last Comic Standing" premiere

Tonight's Season 7 premiere of "Last Comic Standing" has a brand new host, new judges, and two funny hopefuls from North Carolina.

The hosting duties go to Craig Robinson, who has already been great in "The Office" and "Hot Tub Time Machine." But for me, the show's new judges are the biggest reason to tune in: Greg Giraldo, Natasha Leggero, and Andy Kindler are the perfect combo.

What to Watch on Monday: Comics, cowboys, and hip hop

Last Comic Standing (8pm, NBC) - It's the two-hour premiere of "Comic's" season seven, and there's a new host (Craig Robinson), new judges, and two hopefuls from North Carolina.

Lie to Me (8pm, Fox) - Cal suspects a charming psych student is guilty of murder, but the man is being protected by his professor. Meanwhile, Loker and Torres investigate a claim by a teacher (Howard Hesseman) who says he saw a UFO.

2010 Hip Hop Honors (9pm, VH1) - The seventh annual gala pays tribute to Dirty South music. Performers include Bun B, Lil Jon, T-Pain, and Pitbull. Craig Robinson is also hosting this.

Good Guys (9pm, Fox) - In the second episode of Fox's farcical buddy cop show, Dan and Jack (Bradley Whitford, Colin Hanks) start out working a simple vandalism case that puts them on the trail of thieves who stole vintage cars.

Persons Unknown (10pm, NBC) - In this drama pilot, seven strangers are abducted and taken to a deserted town where they discover they're under constant surveillance and escape won't be easy. One member of the group receives a message telling her to kill someone in order to gain her freedom.

Last American Cowboy (10pm, Animal) - The premiere episode of a new reality series following the lives of three Montana ranching families as they manage their stock from birth to auction. Tonight, calfing season begins. Check out this video preview, an introduction to "the cowboy way."
