At UNC-CH, a plea for computing vigilance

At UNC Chapel Hill, the IT chief is asking employees to get to know their computers a little better and to care for them.

That's one piece of a new computing security policy Larry Conrad is pushing to beef up the university's ability to stave off hackers and keep personal data secure.

Though it won't solve all the problems, Conrad says encouraging employees to do their own virus updating and software patching is a good starting point.
