It's a great week for shopping at the drugstores and Kroger with several FREE items at the pharmacies and an impressive Mega Event sale at Kroger. Among the freebies: greeting cards, toothpaste, cough drops, UP2U gum and Bufferin. At Kroger, pick up lots of holiday ingredients at stock-up prices, including  Cool Whip, sugar and butter. There are some nice deals at the drugstores and Kroger this week. But my favorite deal, by far, is the milk for $2.79 per gallon at Kroger. I grabbed one on Sunday and I'll likely go back to get another on Saturday so we can have two weeks of bargain-priced milk.

At the drugstores, you can score free candy corn and a Halloween carving tool at CVS. But hurry. That deal is only good through Thursday. CVS also has a great deal on Progresso soup and CVS-brand diapers. At Rite Aid, there are nice deals on laundry detergent and 7UP. And at Walgreens, be sure to score some inexpensive Carmex lip balm and DenTek flossers.

There are good, solid deals to be had at all the drugstores, but if I had to limit myself to just one store this week, Rite Aid would come out on top with its free toothpaste, free mouthwash and a free battery toothbrush, along with 25-cent cough drops and 45-cent Pepsi Max 2 liters.

Other great deals include 24-cent Softsoap body wash and 49-cent BenGay gel at CVS, 24-cent Chex Mix at Walgreens and 2-packs of light bulbs for 50 cents each at Rite Aid. But my favorite deal of the week is at Kroger, where milk is $2.79 a gallon!
