Yep. It was announced today that LC of "The Hills" has a new line going into the discount department store chain.
So I guess my first question about this odd pairing is ... do you think LC has even been in a Kohl's?
Do you think Kohl's execs have ever sat down for a half hour of "Hills" drama?
And isn't it great that we live in a country where you can go from TV reality star, who happens to be dabbling at fashion design studies, to having a line at a national mass merchandise store?
No matter, I suppose.
LC Lauren Conrad, a contemporary lifestyle brand, will launch in Kohl's women's department in October. About 300 stores initially will get the collection, which will ultimately expand to all stores nationwide.
Look for apparel initially. The line may expand into footwear, jewelry, handbags, intimates and sleepwear.
Prices will range from $20 to $60.
Under the agreement, Conrad and Kohl's will collaborate on the design of the brand, but Kohl's will lead the manufacturing, production, distribution and marketing. Look for Conrad's image to be used for the marketing.
Here's what LC had to say about the deal:
“Partnering with a successful national retailer like Kohl’s supports my mission to make great clothing accessible to young women everywhere,” LC said. “The collection is a reflection of my personal style and will offer fresh, California casual designs at an affordable price.”
