New Target store in west Cary to open in March 2014

Target, which earlier this year acquired an 11-acre parcel in the Parkside Town Commons development in Cary, announced Friday that the story would open in March 2014.

The company expects to hire 200 workers for the 135,000-square-foot store. Target will host job fairs two months prior to the opening.

Target and Harris Teeter will anchor the first phase of Parkside Town Commons, a commercial and residential project planned for the intersection of O’Kelly Chapel Road and N.C. 55 in Cary.

Kite Realty, the developer behind the shopping center, announced this week that construction on the multi-phase project will begin early this year.

The 250,000-square-foot first phase, which will be anchored by Target and Harris Teeter, is scheduled to open in 2014.
